Cpl Thomas Vanderlaan: Road to Recovery. Friday, July 22, 2011. Today at the SCI he was able to navigate around his new hospital ward in a special chair that looks like a recliner on wheels. He was able to operate the chair with a joystick and move himself about in the hallways. These are the strides and progress we need to take great encouragement from, as they are the tiny steps that will eventually take him to his final destination of complete recovery.
