Fotografare per raccontare luoghi e persone. Di tutta l’Europa, la Spagna è sicuramente la nazione che preferisco. In particolare l’ Andalusia. Mi ha stupito per la sua bellezza e per i luoghi estremamente caratteristici: deserti di terra rossa. Città variopinte e l’influenza barocca. Regalano a questo territorio un fascino unico. Che non ha mancato di travolgermi. Plaza Nuesta Señora de la Paz y Esperanza, Cordoba, Spagna. Piazza di Spagna, Siviglia, Spagna. Alhambra, Granada, Spagna. WEST U.S.A.

Fotografare per raccontare luoghi e persone. Ho pensato a questo reportage per diversi anni prima di realizzarlo, perché Auschwitz. Non è un luogo facile, ogni ispirazione artistica viene annientata dall’ orrore. Di ciò che si vede e si percepisce. Ogni muro, ogni singolo oggetto di questo luogo sprigiona il dolore. Di chi ci ha vissuto e ha dovuto sopportare quello che per noi non è nemmeno immaginabile. Ho scelto di fare il mio reportage volutamente a Dicembre, nella peggiore delle stagioni.

Perdendomi letteralmente tra deserti e città che sembravano appena uscite da un film western, assaporando ogni aspetto positivo e contraddittorio del popolo americano. Al quale mi sento molto legato. Gli Stati Uniti offrono i luoghi più incredibili. Di tutto il pianeta, basti pensare all’immensità del Grand Canyon. O alla maestosità della Monument Valley. Al deserto arido di Sonora. E la vita caraibica di Miami.
