A new challenge | Teaching in Thailand
https://thomtalks.wordpress.com/2015/04/06/a-new-challenge
April 6, 2015. But going back to feeling scared. Not being paid for three months and having to scrimp has been left me with a seemingly eternal feeling of doubt in the bottom of my stomach that won’t seem to go away. I suppose I should remember Bob Marley’s words: “Every little thing is gonna be alright”. I have to do another visa run today to get the 60 day tourist visa. A massive pain in the arse to be honest but this time I’m going along with Nathan and we will have fun. I hope the group...You are com...
The first few weeks in Pathum | Teaching in Thailand
https://thomtalks.wordpress.com/2014/11/12/the-first-few-weeks-in-pathum
The first few weeks in Pathum. November 12, 2014. So I thought that I would continue my blogging quest with a review of my first few weeks in Pathum Rachawongsa. Pathum is a very small town with very little to do far in the North-East and not far from the border of Laos. There are barely any transport links which makes it difficult to have much of a social life outside of work, hence my resignation to writing more. The nearest town is Amnat Charoen, is it a city? 8216;I’m fucked’. This weekend I plan to ...
You ‘avin a laff? | Teaching in Thailand
https://thomtalks.wordpress.com/2014/11/03/you-avin-a-laff
You ‘avin a laff? November 3, 2014. I mean yeah, I get the fact that it’s a great expression for getting noshed but I cannot actually get my head around the meaning of ‘airtight’. What does that even mean in every day conversation? The only thing that I can relate it to is being blister packed….and nothing really that good comes in a blister pack. This is someone that I had spent the last month or so getting absolutely twisted with and all I could mutter was that? What a prick…. Something you would PAY t...
Black Friday means black business. | Teaching in Thailand
https://thomtalks.wordpress.com/2014/12/09/black-friday-means-black-days-for-western-culture
Black Friday means black business. December 9, 2014. I am adding this post to my travel blog as I have been able to observe this phenomenon from afar and my experiences of living in Asia have really solidified the fact that Western culture, especially that of America and the UK is, in some ways, totally fucked. However as we all know, zombies are mindless beings, dead inside, blood thirsty and barbaric. This year, in America alone, 7 people died and 98 people were injured as a result of Black Friday.
Samui – WHAT IS HAPPENING? | Teaching in Thailand
https://thomtalks.wordpress.com/2015/04/06/samui-what-is-happening
Samui – WHAT IS HAPPENING? April 6, 2015. So, where to begin with Samui eh? My gawd we had a blast! 8221; In the wise words of Mr Joseph Weir: “Samui can suck my fucking balls”. ha. So I arrived to Bangkok after a long journey down from Isan. I inconveniently arrived at Scotty boy’s apartment at 5am which I am sure he was really happy about. Never-the-less he had a beer waiting and the New Year’s journey had begun. We had to drink more after that, naturally. 8220;To forget.”. 8220;Ashamed of what? To say...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! The dancer is the dance. March 14, 2015. March 14, 2015. Got a notification through on my phone from wordpress which reminded me that I actually had one of these things so I thought, ‘Hey, may as well throw some more badly articulated ideas onto the internet while I’m still here,” so here goes nothing. I’d have laughed in your face. Looking back on the last four years, all the dots connect and where I am right now, in a way, to me, ...What or...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! Big birthdays and away days. December 9, 2014. December 9, 2014. Needed Monday to recover from the weekend before I could recount the time which was spent celebrating the Kings birthday. The following is a detailed recollection (1,100 words) of my experiences last week, so if you fall asleep you have been warned…. Why wear yellow for the month of December, I hear you ask. Looking from the outside in, it may seem slightly over the top if you i...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! Nightmare in 192 MOO3 Khuangnai District. December 2, 2014. Had a nightmare yesterday. Not the type when things are going wrong and your on the verge of a mental breakdown. This was the traditional type in the form of a dream. I’m drifting…. The type when you wake up convinced what just happened in your head occured in real life. I’m a huge fan of these dreams. I know quite a few people who detest dreams. Or after watching a scary movie (the ...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! November 28, 2014. November 28, 2014. My take on how life should be spent for 20 something year olds. We’re always reminded how school is the best days of our lives. How after school we will have bills to pay, a job to go to whether we like it or not and how, basically, we are resigned to accepting our soon to be monotonous life. Bullshit, Private Pyle! The question ”How many jobs have you applied for today? 8221; will be asked everyday until...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! December 12, 2014. December 12, 2014. This is a caffeine fueled blog. It’s aimless and pointless, genuinely. I’m only writing because it’s late and I can’t sleep as I’m buzzing on the stuff now. It’s just like being back in the McClay. Indeed…you’ve been warned, the following has no point. Packs upon packs of 24 pro plus were nailed (later to be tesco value caffeine pills-same caffeine content, cheaper packet…) in an effort to feel more...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! January 8, 2015. January 8, 2015. Given it’s now well into the first full week of January I thought I’d put an entry in for the New Year…I also need to let the air con dry out my sweat stained shirt as it’s day 4 of ”sportsweek” a.k.a. Thai children competing in scorching heat (shortest winter ever) as if they were Olympians. I’m on my last legs. I’m a big fan of goal setting but as I’ve found out whilst trying to check off bucket...My final ...

Teaching, travelling, Chang-ing, and (possibly) some training! December 26, 2014. Not living in the western world for Christmas has been strange to say the least. While it’s been refreshing not having the holiday constantly force fed down my throat, I’ve easily missed everything Christmas brings with it much more than I dislike the ”uglier” side of it. Turkey, roasties, ham, cider, chocolate…gad. Carlsburg don’t do school trips…. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Its A Wonderful World.

As Joseph stood watch by the manger that night,. And shepherds were awed by the wondrous sight,. A Heavenly Father looked down with pride,. And angels in glory rejoiced at His side. She tended the needs of her Son as He grew. And Joseph provided the best that he knew,. The message still lingered in Mary’s dear heart,.
