Hopeful Jumpers: May 2015
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
May 28, 2015. Hero and I had a lesson with the new trainer today (our original Trainer A is having some serious health issues so I'm not sure when he will be back to teaching, sad Jess). That is part of what I love most about Hero. once you teach him something he's quite happy to go with it. Breaking up text with cute photo). Finally we started working on Hero's first bounce. We started off with the second jump being a pole, then up to a cross rail, then a vertical. I expected Hero to not do the ...My tr...

Hopeful Jumpers: Hanging Out With The Boys
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2015/08/hanging-out-with-boys.html
August 4, 2015. Hanging Out With The Boys. Well the rains have continued (yesterday broke a 42 year record for the amount of rain we got and the flooding in some areas was leading to emergency evacuations) and as such, the riding has not been happening. Hero has gotten his shoe put back on, but everything is just too muddy and wet to do much more than walk. I've really been wishing we had some sort of covered arena lately! This weekend all I did was groom the boys and take them out for some hand grazing.

R Lil Bit of Cash: First Show of 2015 (And In Many Years!)
http://rlilbitofcash.blogspot.com/2015/04/first-show-of-2015-and-in-many-years.html
Sunday, April 19, 2015. First Show of 2015 (And In Many Years! It was a Johnston County Horse Show Series show (JCHSS), and the show was supposed to be on Saturday, the 11th, which was also my sweet Lilly's 15th birthday, but the weather has been stormy and they ended up post-poning the show for Sunday. We had a nice, long break after our in hand classes and Lilly was happy to hang out at the trailer and eat hay. I socialized a bit and caught up with some of my horse show buddies, ate a chili dog and...

Thanks for taking the time to leave me a comment, I love reading them! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Prince is a handsome and intelligent 25 year old Thoroughbred x Dutch Warmblood who thinks very highly of himself. We became a team on April 10, 2007 and he has been the most fantastic first horse I could have ever hoped for. Hero is a bi...

Hopeful Jumpers: October 2014
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
October 31, 2014. The $3 pumpkin costume makes its annual appearance. The cats join in the fun (and by that I mean fun for me). My favorite costume from years past- Munch dressed as Abu, the monkey from Aladdin. I haven't ever dressed the horses up, so no Halloween pictures from them, sorry. Hero and I had a lesson Thursday morning. He was by far the best he's been for a morning lesson, and that was even with the distraction of a herd of loud goats running around in the field next to us. Hopeful Jumpers: November 2014
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
November 30, 2014. Sorry for the lack of posting lately, I had a very busy weekend which I promise to right up a blog post about as soon as I can. For now, I'm exhausted so I'm just going to post a few teaser photos and leave it at that. Sorry! Links to this post. November 27, 2014. What I have been most thankful for these past eight years). As you all know I spent a long time dreaming of the day I could afford a second horse to ride and jump again, and I am incredibly thankful that I am now in a positio...

Hopeful Jumpers: April 2015
http://jessandprinceofthieves.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
April 28, 2015. Pony has to use what is underneath the cute star. Hero and I had a productive lesson with trainer A this week. The big theme of the lesson was to get Hero to un-weight his right shoulder and not lean on the bit as much when we are circling to the right. Working on the basics. Exciting to me, not as exciting of a blog post topic. But important nonetheless! Links to this post. April 26, 2015. Anyways, after lots of encouragement and leg I was finally able to get Hero to hold a canter over a...

Panic and the Pony: The Name Game
http://panicandthepony.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-name-game.html
Panic and the Pony. Monday, May 25, 2015. I've always hated the name Licorice. I let my previous trainer talk me into keeping it because she believed you don't change their names once they have them. Having worked a LOT with rescue animals, I'm all about starting a new life with a new name. SoI've decided to change Licorice's name. I have a front runner that I'm trying out this week, but if anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them. I love the big Italian names (Valerio! We've completed a week of ...
