THE OGILVIE PAVILION AND SPORTS. Heritage coast run / walk. Thorpeness Cricket Club dates back to the 1920s. Since the 1980s the club has seen a decline in membership along with the standard of cricket played but playing it certainly is. We are always on the look-out for new players . The club erected a cricket net last year which is a vital piece of equipment for the improvement of skills. Anyone interested in playing contact:. It is a very social evening with a break for "nibbles" at half time. You don't have to belong to a team - come along on your own if you wish and join one of the other teams. The Bowls Club decided at their 2015 AGM that it was no longer possible for them to sustain playing at Thorpeness and agreed that they would appproach Aldeburgh to see if they could play league bowls there. This has now taken place and the members of Thorpeness will join Aldeburgh and league matches will be reinstated there this year.
