I've seriously worked my tail off all day.you know that saying, one always over-estimates what can be done in a week, but under-estimates what can be done in a day? Well, I'm flipping over everything I got cleaned out, organized, sewn, decorated, and ironed today. And I'm still hoping to make some soap tonight. Glam it up Girlfriend! Boy Howdy, love that two tone. Sit Relax and Read. I hav...

cottage instincts: What to do with old windows.
http://cottageinstincts.blogspot.com/2011/12/what-to-do-with-old-windows.html
What to do with old windows. Basically, store them in your garage for a few years,. Set them against the wall in different rooms hoping for some inspiration for another few years,. Then steal ideas from pinterest. And make them a picture frame. Who noticed the sneak peek of these frames in this post. Hang those puppies up on a big ole wall that really should already *have* a window,. And voila, instant brag board. You could even add wood letters down the middle so's folks don't think you just stole faces.

The Harvey Files: Recess. A homeschool mom's sanity-saver.
http://theharveyfiles.blogspot.com/2010/09/recess-homeschool-moms-sanity-saver.html
Recess. A homeschool mom's sanity-saver. Helps to have an extended period of time with no schooling responsibilities. I can check email, blog, take a quick rest, finish projects, or shower (yes, I school the kids in jammies or stinky sweats most days).it's great motivation to finish morning work knowing we have a decent chunk of time to chill out. I really admire you for homeschooling all year. But creating breaks in the day must really help. We do that, too! 9/16/10, 10:45 AM. Cindy Wife, Mom, Teacher.

The Harvey Files: A bit o' my philosophy. Such a big word.
http://theharveyfiles.blogspot.com/2010/07/i-get-emails-quite-bit-from-readers-or.html
A bit o' my philosophy. Such a big word. I get emails quite a bit from readers or friends who want to pick my brain about how I homeschool. I recently had a couple gals just starting out (one with little ones and one with kids coming back from public school) and I thought I'd make my replies a post here for others. Expanded even. Oh joy. Basically, my approach to curriculum and teaching is. Don't let the good crowd out the best. There is no such thing as 'the' perfect curriculum. Well, that was rambly...

The Harvey Files: Scheduling
http://theharveyfiles.blogspot.com/p/how-i-schedule.html
Here's the deal. We use lots o'curriculum and learning materials and fun stuff every week. We DO NOT. Do everything everyday. Sometime not even every week. Gasp! Below you'll see how I structure our subjects and how my time is scheduled with the boys. Again, we DO NOT follow this to a 't' everyday. This is more our anchor when we find ourselves adrift in a sea of daily distractions. When push comes to shove, I always do some reading,. I plan a 'routine' instead of a schedule. I really hate being a nag.

Is there any other way? One of my all time favorite bloggers is Donna of Funky Junk Interiors. She is spunky, talented, extremely generous, and inspiring. I've actually featured her before HERE.
