Welcome to the latest incarnation of my website. Wednesday, July 30, 2008. An easy family meal, made with economical round steak, Parmesan cheese, and tomatoes. Cook Time: 1 hour, 15 minutes. 1 1/2 to 2 pounds beef round steak, about 3/4 inches thick. 1 egg, slightly beaten. 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs. 1/2 teaspoon dried leaf basil. 3 tablespoons cooking oil or shortening. 1 can (15 1/2 ounces} diced tomatoes. 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 2 tablespoons dry red wine.
