Storytelling Support
http://learningknowledge.org/Services/storytelling%20support.html
Stories are one of the oldest ways of communicating knowledge, and can encapsulate lessons from our experiences. They aren’t teaching in any formal sense yet can provide opportunities to learn things that aren’t readily teachable like values and cultural norms. Stories can also transcend time and space, communicating lessons to future generations and in other places.
Journey So Far
http://learningknowledge.org/JourneySoFar.html
We are all on a road from somewhere, to somewhere. I first discovered how satisfying it is to help people learn working with students at the University of Salford where I began acquiring the skills and knowledge to help people learn better. My business experience began even earlier, helping out in a family business during school holidays. I formed my own company to develop innovative learning further, and developed a system for learning called the Knowledge Puzzle . What learning processes there are.
Philosophy
http://learningknowledge.org/Philosophy.html
My philosophy guides my life in the direction I want to take, much like the sailor guides the yacht. A significant part of this life has been spent developing my skills to learn well myself and to coach/ mentor other people in the skill of learning helping them develop the underlying knowledge, techniques, processes, systems and philosophy that combined is the expertise of people we might identify as. I define a "Master learner" as someone who:. Can learn how to learn. It has been said that.
Ideas & Tools

The SWOT is a widely recognised tool for helping people think. Here are some ideas and tools that demonstrate concepts behind what I do. Is an approach to learning structured to let people explore what is being learned in ways that suit them. The Powerpoint both informs the reader about its concepts and is a demonstrator of these concepts. Gives some exercises to try in perceiving alternative images. Presents on one page the major ideas associated with systems, and uses a schema to structure the knowledge.

The references below include one article I had published and books I have read that have been part of my development. If found interesting they might add to yours. Please Google them if you are interested. Messing About in Problems" by Eden, Jones and Sims. Pergamon Press 1983. Problems in organisations are seen differently according to peoples' perceptions and politics within the organisation. The book presents tools to help "problem helpers" elicit and map these different perspectives.
Coaching
http://learningknowledge.org/Services/coaching.html
It is a miracle that curiosity survives formal education. The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education. I believe the way people are educated works against developing "Master Learners" in many ways. An intolerance and fear of failure is just one example of something that exists in many people and acts as a barrier. The two quotes above (from someone who many would acknowledge as one of the great learners) indicate he may have shared this belief.

Links
http://learningknowledge.org/Links.html

Below are some links to people and places that have been and still are part of my learning journey. One of the significant influencing factors in my journey was the. Made by 13 people who have been leaders in the field of learning. Whilst it does not seem current, I believe it I one of the most significant statements on the nature of learning and what a learning society might look like.
Evaluation
http://learningknowledge.org/Services/evaluation.html
Evaluation is a critical process in learning from projects and programmes that people and organisations undertake. I provide both formative and summative evaluations to help apply learning to future activity, highlight lessons learned and emphasise successes. Il help articulate what it is that is to be evaluated, and come up with a plan that fits the budget. If I am consulted before the project start I can design the monitoring and evaluation tools if required.

Only in some senses. Not to alarm you too much, but you’ve probably notice I haven’t blogged much. Further I’ve updated my personal site. With the dreaded under construction page. For archival purposes I will keep this up I’m still debating whether it’s worth it to take this content and try to insert it into the new system. Time will tell.
