Now that I was allowed to vent about testing, I want to focus on things we as teachers can do to get our students interested in what we are teaching. So. For example, in third grade the students learn about synonyms and antonyms. One of the most common and annoying things I hear walking through the hallways at my son's school is, "it's testing season". Are you serious! Too often I walk down these same halls and instead of hearing insteresting conversation between teachers and students, or even instruction for that matter, I see closed doors with signs reading, "Quiet, testing".
