160;   Thoughts @ 3:15. Thursday, 9 June 2016. More good eats around town. Now that we've booked our flight back to Toronto, CharK and I have been spending these past couple of weeks in tourist mode. For starters, we've been trying foods and restaurants that were always on our "list" but that we never got around to. A greasy but yummy meal (Photo: CharK). I'm no food critic, but I like the noodle texture and shrimp that is served. Weekday tea time at Wong Chi Kei (Photo: CathC). A vegetarian take on "cla...

    Thoughts @ 3:15: April 2016

http://thoughtsat315.blogspot.com/2016_04_01_archive.html

160;   Thoughts @ 3:15. Sunday, 24 April 2016. In pork we trust. We ordered the Arepas Rellenas, grilled corn bread, which was delicious. I loved the creamy avocado salsa and chicken filling. We also ordered a spinach empaneda, which came with a creamy yoghurt sauce. For drinks we got a glass of kumbouche, which was a bit more sour as a juice than I expected. But the apple cider vinegar with organic honey was good. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). In pork we trust. More than Seven Pairs. This work by CathC.

    Thoughts @ 3:15: February 2015

http://thoughtsat315.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

160;   Thoughts @ 3:15. Sunday, 22 February 2015. Celebrating the Year of the Ram. Individuals and businesses alike celebrate Chinese New Year with various rituals. Even in Toronto, I use to see lion dancers performing around the city at events and local malls for the 採青. Plucking the greens" ceremony. Traditional offerings made for Chinese New Year (Photo; CharK). And continued their routine. The only downside was part of the ceremony took place inside the hotel in the lobby, which was a bit crowded...

    Thoughts @ 3:15: June 2015

http://thoughtsat315.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

160;   Thoughts @ 3:15. Friday, 26 June 2015. It's no secret that I have a pretty big sweet tooth, and have no problems eating desserts as a regular meal. I believe that the desserts menu is what really sets a restaurant and/or cafe apart, is usually what I remember the most about a meal. So once in awhile, CharK will indulge me and agree to some unconventional meals. After running some errands at Festival Walk, I wanted to try Sweet-O-logy. A must try for any dessert fans (Photo: CharK). CharK also foun...

160;   Thoughts @ 3:15. Sunday, 24 January 2016. The coldest weekend ever. This has been the coldest weekend that I can remember since being in HK these past 3 years. Being Canadian the cold really shouldn't bother me so much, but I just can't get over how cold it is even indoors. Unlike having the luxury of central heating systems, I just need to wear more layers. Right now, I'm wearing a thermal shirt underneath a t-shirt,a fleece jacket, and socks! It's only 13 degrees inside! Also showed many people ...

Thoughts @ 3:15: Happy Lunar New Year

http://thoughtsat315.blogspot.com/2016/02/happy-lunar-new-year.html

160;   Thoughts @ 3:15. Monday, 8 February 2016. Happy Lunar New Year. The fresh flower market at Victoria Park in Hong Kong Island is one of the most famous events held during the Lunar New Year celebrations. There are over 400 stalls in this one park, selling fresh flowers, toys, paper windmills, and traditional Chinese food and treats. Aside from the beautiful flowers, many local high schools and colleges sold their own DIY creations like these "煎釀三寶" (aka HK street foods). Regardless of the crowds an...
