Thoughts from a Missionary: We All Have Need of the Atonement of Jesus Christ

http://www.thoughtsfromamissionary.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-following-was-inspired-by-lds.html

Thoughts from a Missionary. Thursday, February 14, 2013. We All Have Need of the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The following was inspired by LDS Apostle, Boyd K. Packer. S October 2012 talk, " The Atonement. What is the Atonement? As mortal human beings, we are imperfect. Try as we might, we are all prone to weakness, and will occasionally slip up, violating the commandments God has given us. But God has said,. Wherefore teach it unto your children, that all men, everywhere, must repent, or they can in nowi...

Thoughts from a Missionary: Forgive and Forget

http://www.thoughtsfromamissionary.blogspot.com/2013/02/forgive-and-forget.html

Thoughts from a Missionary. Tuesday, February 12, 2013. Has anyone ever wronged you? President Boyd K. Packer. Of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, spoke on the very subject of forgiveness in an address. To the Church given in April 2011. He spoke of a man who had gone through much grief, and seemingly had every right to be angry, but who chose to forgive:. This had been my friend’s trial. How could he leave it alone? He said, 'I was an old man before I...

Thoughts from a Missionary: The Atonement of Jesus Christ: Our Reconciliation with God

http://www.thoughtsfromamissionary.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-atonement-of-jesus-christ-our.html

Thoughts from a Missionary. Thursday, March 14, 2013. The Atonement of Jesus Christ: Our Reconciliation with God. Another stellar article written by guest-writer Cody Bosch. I would like to speak of the wonderful gift to mankind that is the Atonement of Jesus Christ. As Elder Boyd K. Packer. Of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints cleverly phrased it, “Atonement. Is really three words: At-one-ment,. Meaning to set at one, one with God; to reconcile, to conciliate, to expiate.”. Because of the ...

Monday, January 21, 2013. Mormonism Teachings: Cleansing Through Christ. One of the great teachings of Mormonism. Is that of repentance. Through repentance a person may be cleansed through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. Previously I have shared a page about Christ's healing power with the Legion. Now I'd like to share another scripture story of his healing power, that of Naaman the Syrian captain. 3 And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! 6 And he broug...

LDS Truths: Helping Others

http://holyfruits.blogspot.com/2014/01/helping-others.html

Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Helping those in need was what Jesus Christ was best at. He spent his life serving other people. From Mormon.org we read:. There are countless ways to serve others: we can share our time with someone who is lonely, or tutor someone that needs help with schoolwork, or even play games with someone that needs a friend. It may be difficult to get out and do things for other people who we may not know, but as we do so we will be filled with a joy that we could not otherwise find.

LDS Truths: Repentance is a Gift!

http://holyfruits.blogspot.com/2014/02/repentance-is-gift.html

Tuesday, February 4, 2014. Repentance is a Gift! Light of the World" by Howard Lyon. While discussing sin and the need of repentance with a friend of mine, my friend said to me: "Too many people think of repenting of sins as a punishment from God. That is simply not true. That is not the way God sees repentance, and that is not how he wants us to see it. Repentance is a gift! The Need to Repent. When Jesus Christ performed the Atonement. That is, if we die without forsaking our sins we will not be saved,...

Tuesday, August 20, 2013. The Divine Role of Prophets. A Glimpse of the Past - Moses. In addition to being their spiritual leader he was also being their physical leader, guiding them to the Promised Land – the land promised to their fathers – Canaan. While in the wilderness Moses showed repeatedly that Jehovah is God, and that the people should follow Him. A snake was raised up on a stick to remind the Children of Israel of the Atonement of Christ:. The last thing concerning Moses I will mention is the ...

LDS Truths: July 2013

http://holyfruits.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Thursday, July 25, 2013. Faith is a Verb. Jesus Christ - Media Library. There are two parts to having faith in Jesus Christ - the first being to have "a firm belief that He is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. It means believing that He suffered for your sins and afflictions ( Faith in Jesus Christ. When I hear most people talk about having faith this is the part they focus on. However, there is a second part to it that is just as important: to act. Go, and Do. James 2:17-18,22.). The Lord taug...

Thoughts from a Missionary's Head. Monday, January 9, 2012. Creating tangible things is a passion of mine. I am a terrible artist and my songwriting skills are very basic, so the need to create has been fulfilled via models. Mormon Thoughts

Monday, October 15, 2012. Winnemucca - gift of going to church in other places. We went to church in Winnemucca, NV yesterday. It's about half way between the Bay Area and Provo. It was very nice. There was a kid there talking about his mission and that it's been moved up due to the recent change. He's excited, in part because the missionaries live at his house and he gets to see their excitement and attitude towards missionary work. Very cool. Posted by The Lindes.
