Where there is doubt; Faith

Where there is doubt; Faith. Thursday, December 20, 2012. My next chance to get away, other than a short trip into Alajuela, was the following weekend. The same tourism company offered an Adventure tour. The expedition included a morning of whitewater rafting followed by an afternoon of ziplining. I love whitewater rafting and Costa Rica is famous for its canopy high ropes tours. How could I pass up the opportunity to do both in one journey? I couldn’t and I didn’t. It was a wet day. The river was raging.

Where there is doubt; Faith: Meet the Family

http://thoughtsfromastrangeplace.blogspot.com/2012/12/meet-family.html

Where there is doubt; Faith. Thursday, December 13, 2012. As I mentioned, I am staying with a Costa Rican family to enhance the experience. The family lives somewhat near the school. However, I I responsible for getting to school which usually entails a seven-minute taxi ride costing roughly 5o cents per minutes. The family is wonderful. The fathers name is Jamie. He is a comedian. Well by profession he works for the department of education in Costa Rica, but he likes to dig up a laugh. The house is nice.

Where there is doubt; Faith: Prayers for Love

http://thoughtsfromastrangeplace.blogspot.com/2012/12/prayers-for-love.html

Where there is doubt; Faith. Friday, December 14, 2012. Today I had planned on posting another blog about my trip. But I came home from class today and checked the news. And today I cried. I cried for nearly an hour. My heart hurt for the insensitivity that exits in the world. I cried for families that can no longer be together for Christmas. I cried because children are precious. I was broken cause I cannot understand the inhumanity involved in taking the life of a child. But it always has. My heart is ...

Where there is doubt; Faith: Combo Tour

http://thoughtsfromastrangeplace.blogspot.com/2012/12/combo-tour.html

Where there is doubt; Faith. Wednesday, December 19, 2012. After I finished up some schoolwork for my classes at the University of Akron, I had some free time on the weekends to explore Costa Rica. After all, tourism is their prime industry is tourism. The options of travel around the country a limitless. With opportunities do a multitude of different activities; it was hard to choose what I was going to do. I had a limited time since weekdays are filled with class time and homework. Here we had breakfast.

Monday, January 18, 2010. I LOVE THIS PICTURE! We never get this boy to smile for a picture. He's in a stage where he'd rather pose in cool mode and not so much show the sweet soft guy that is buried underneath.but the other day we were at a build site and I had my new camera with me and I said oh smile Eduardo and he did and this is what turned out. :). As always I appreciate you journeying with us.this ministry is the effort of so many and we couldn't do what we do without you. Links to this post.

http://calledandcompelled.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Friday, March 25, 2011. We were asked at the renewal that we just came from to make some “commitments” (which is hard for some of us who flee from most anything that requires commitment for fear that we will fail, but that’s another post altogether). Sure there are places that have grown and changed and shifted. There are places that are better as a result of the journey, but I think sometimes moving forward from where you are requires naming what you hate about where you are. I think this is that. Relis...

There is No Fear in Love. Monday, February 4, 2013. Hello All, The first month of 2013 has come and gone quicker than I thought possible. I've spent half of it here in Ohio visiting friends and family I haven't seen in over a year and it has been wonderful! God's truth in the everyday. August 9, 2015. Mow Down The Saskatoons. Part of my job at the farm is to mow a ten foot perimeter around the crops. Because it’s registered seed the inspectors require that space to insure against cross contamination from other crops, as well as minimizing the weeds that are always prevalent on the edges of fields. Jesus said seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and again, do not store up your treasure on earth where moth and rust destroy and thieves break in...

THOUGHTS FROM A STARFISH. Embracing life with words – by deborah anne. Thoughts from a Starfish. Recipes from the Heart. My Brother the Father. Mum, my brother and I. When others celebrate Father’s Day, the first person they think of is their own dads. Or grand-dads. For me, I think about my brother. You see, my brother has been the silent man in the household ever since dad left home years back. Since then, he has always taken it upon himself to take care of the family. Round 1 was read by the British-accented Richard whom we remembered from our time in Paris. With questions and categories such as "Medieval terms," "World War 1," and "Rome's enemies," we owned that round and breathed a sigh of relief that at least we wouldn't go home complete losers - every Middle Schooler's worst nightmare, right?
