An AWESOME WordPress.com site. September 13, 2016. 8220;Words these days are so empty.Love is reduced to an icon on Twitter and Like to a tap on Twitter.”. Forever means a few days, soon means never. The thought and process that goes with crafting and forming words is now non-existent. I wish words meant more to people, and were not just shape-shifting clouds. I wish words didn’t mean so much to me, and I didn’t remember or hold on to the meaningless words I seem to hear so often. May 14, 2016. I canR...

thoughtsfromatoken | because very little is black and white
Because very little is black and white. April 1, 2016. Pontificating Black Women (Part I). I have this awful habit of reading YouTube comments. It’s a dependency that can only be described in totality by R. Kelly’s intro to Bump N’ Grind when he yells, my mind is telling me no, but my body, my body is telling me yes! Oddly enough, we will get back to R. Kelly later. With that said, I’m obsessed with a song called Coming Home by Leon Bridges (check the song out here. They’re just angry black women right?

Thoughts from a train | My rambling from the commute
Thoughts from a train. My rambling from the commute. The Garden – an ongoing project. From the air up here. February 14, 2009. Able to get an exit row. Stuck against a window, with a lady who alternates between offering me gum ( I accepted not sure if I needed it but if I did I feel safer), frenetically changing reading material, and eating through a large tube of Lays stackers. I bring this up because it’s almost more fun than thinking about commuting on the train. Infants are cute but REALLY LOUD.

Thoughts From a Trash Can
Thoughts From a Trash Can. Take a trip inside my head. Where I grew up. Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Accepting My LARGE Self. Does that mean I’m comfortable with the way I look? Who cares what I look like? I was happy and proud and that’s all that should matter. I know people who don’t see me regularly look at pictures I post and think “damn, she gained a lot of weight,” and you know what, you’re right! But I’m healthier than I’ve ever been and eventually the weight will come off but in the mea...Perceptio...

Baby / Mama | Life as a Twenty-Something Year Old Parent
Life as a Twenty-Something Year Old Parent. It’s been a long time since I’ve written. A really long time. So long, in fact, that I couldn’t remember my login info for a while and it took me about 10 tries to finally get into this thing. I finally feel like emotionally I have started to resurface, and as a result, maybe I could try this again. But before I start on with the eventual warm-and-fuzzy stories that I’m so fond of, I suppose a rationale for my silence is required. I’ve lived in my current...

Thoughts from a Wanderer
Thoughts from a Wanderer. Do you ever find yourself…. September 24, 2010. Still holding the phone up to your ear LONG after the person on the other end has hung up? September 22, 2010. The other day my train to New York from New Jersey was rerouted unexpectedly. I usually take a train that goes directly to Penn Station, but signal problems caused all trains to instead be routed to the World Trade Center stop. August 2, 2010. These little things are exactly what my life was missing when I was single.
