Thoughts by Tom Eggebeen. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts." Psalm 139:23. Friday, February 27, 2015. Lent is a time to. Did he shake his head now and then? That folks could be so mean? That folks would out-and-out. And bend and twist to please Rome? Did he ever wonder if it was. I think he was afraid at times. Afraid of what might come. Death can't win, is the story. But death ain't no fool. It has its ways. For a time, it won. And the good folks who love death. Not by s...

Thoughts by Tom Eggebeen. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts." Psalm 139:23. Sunday, January 25, 2015. But I know the feeling. One wants to react. Much more to life. The offense is for a blinding moment. Wait until the eyes of the soul adjust. And you can see straight again. The offender is just another human being. Subject to the same stupidity. As is the offended. The offense is for a blinding moment. Wait until the eyes of the soul adjust. And you can see straight again.

Thoughts by Tom Eggebeen. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts." Psalm 139:23. Thursday, June 18, 2015. I'm Glad to be a Christian. I'm glad to be a Christian, not that I could really be anything else, since I was born into a Christian family in a culturally Christian world (Wisconsin and Michigan - the Reformed and Presbyterian traditions), educated and trained in the Christian Ministry. Had I been born in a Muslim or Buddhist nation/culture, that's likely what I'd be. To my...

Thoughts by Tom Eggebeen. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts." Psalm 139:23. Friday, July 31, 2015. Not in every moment, of course. Nothing so big to change the world forever. But to keep the world moving. With more good than evil. Thursday, July 16, 2015. Mundane Christianity Gets My Vote. I like the word mundane with regard to faith (Dictionary.com) . at least in it's second and third definitions, with a few words from #1 . 1 common; ordinary; banal; unimaginative. So I v...

Thoughts on Linux

My experiences with Linux and related software, reactions to current Linux news, etc. Friday, September 9, 2011. Sacrificing gratis for libre. Gratis and libre can both be interpreted as free. However, there is a difference. Gratis is free as in beer and libre is free as in freedom, to quote the common explanation. Usually a piece of open source software fits both words, but should it? On the other hand, what if our free software tries to force us to do something? Unlike commercial software, it isn't the...

Thought Slot

A slot for my opinion; thoughts. Apaurusheya literally means 'not of human'. Does it mean divine? Yes divine in Indian sense not the abrahamic. Means 'sacred everlasting ideas'. I will explain a little bit why I think so. 1) Apaurusheya does not refer to any text but ideas and mantras. 2) The authors of the Veda are called 'mantra drushtaaraha' (perceivers/receivers or those who saw it). Therefore I have this theory, those who know more could validate this. Koenard Elst's assumptions are not quite right.
