Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Little things that make me smile. Sparkles make me smile. since (being now a resident of oregon) the glimmer of sunshine is something that makes me smile. simply because we see less of the sunshine up here. (by the way. did you know that in the springtime it isn't supposed to be 75-85 degrees? 2: hanging from my birdcage {minus the bird}, next to a lamp and candle that allow the glass to glimmer, glisten, and shine. Ps more to come on our little adventures in oregon. }.

Everywhere i look i see trees. the last few weeks i have been having a hard time sleeping. this is the product of waking up at 3:30 AM. ugh. Sunday, July 26, 2009. Here's a quote at the end of the book: 'that's what i want my life to be, like a well-loved gift. i think life, just life, just breathing in and out, is a great gift. God gives us something amazing when he gives us life, and i want to live with gratitude.'. Sunday, July 12, 2009.

Lori's British Adventure: January 2009
http://lorisbritishadventure.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2009. This past week I have spent some quality time with the rowers, including visiting Lucy Cavendish College for a "Formal Hall." (Cambridge students traditionally to wear gowns on these occasions, and the undergrads are required to wear them for exams. Hence the nickname "Gownies." ) A few male rowers and coaches joined us. It nice to see people dressed up instead of in exercise clothes at 7am! Afterwards we went to the St George pub for hot chocolate, yummmm! Victoria and Albert...

http://teamthompson927.blogspot.com/2013/06/may-2013-girls-trip-to-hawaii.html
Thursday, June 6, 2013. May 2013: Girls Trip to Hawaii. Last month, I was fortunate enough to take a short trip to Hawaii. My sister-in-law, Emily, was working a conference and she let my cousin, May, and I tag along! May and I only had four days there but it was so much fun! What better way to celebrate May's 40th birthday! Our beautiful hotel, The Hilton Hawaiian Village. On our agenda first: A hike to the top of Diamond Head. Those stairs were not my friend. Next on the agenda: Parasailing!

Reflections, musings and adventures from latitude 37. March 17, 2014. Life is precious…and so is faith. And hopefully we’ll be around for each other for many years to come. Note: If you want to be inspired and touched, read that couple’s blog. About their experience with their son this past week. It is raw and real, and it might even bring you to tears (like it did for me). It’s also short and worth the read. Laquo; parking injustice. On March 18, 2014. On March 18, 2014. On March 18, 2014. Reflections, musings and adventures from latitude 37. February 27, 2014. Until today, when I was absolutely shocked to realize that my car was practically being kissed by the fender of that same ugly, old, white Toyota Corolla! I had become the victim of this serial-inconsiderate-parking-lady! 1 Let the air out of the tires of the vehicle. 2 Super glue all the doors and trunk shut. 3 Better yet, put super glue in all the lock/key holes. 6 Apply Vaseline to the door handles. 7 Siphon gas from the gas tank.

Reflections, musings and adventures from latitude 37. January 22, 2014. Wiving and Thriving: Lean In. I may be a little slow on the uptake with this bestseller, but I recently read (i.e listened to the audiobook version of). 8212; which is pretty much the quickie version of the book. Nonetheless, I still think it’s valuable stuff. Dang, that is hard and thankless work! And my admiration and respect for her sacrifice grows the older I get. Have plenty of time to invest in the kids. 8230; but it’s in...

The Schmidts: Surprise!
http://jasonschmidt.blogspot.com/2011/07/surprise.html
Monday, July 18, 2011. Surprise baby #4 is due Valentine's Day 2012. We had our first prenatal appointment today and got to see the little peanut's beating heart and waving hands. I didn't have an early ultrasound with the first three, so we were pleasantly surprised and delighted that we got to see this one so soon. What a miracle to see the baby's limbs, heart, and head at just 10 weeks! Ha, ha, God is much greater then spermicide and breastfeeding. We got our answer loud and clear. I have been a littl...
