But only ONE of the pair? Surely someone besides me can't get over how many sock orphans come through the wash. A couple of years ago we started this system to address the problem. It doesn't take care of it completely, but it has helped a TON! Each room has a bag like this filled with. Posted by The Homemade Renegade. When our la...

So far, we've established that, in most cases, in order for New Year's Resolutions to be successful, there needs to be two things present: clear goals and accountability. So, how do we think through our goals for the New Year? The first thing I do is come up with a phrase or word for the year. Even did a necklace with this year's motto. Here is a worksheet to get you going. Dream big, have fun, and make 2012 one of the best yet! Everyone ...

Thursday, March 31, 2011. Readjusting to Costa Rican Culture. It's been 17 years since I've been here. I'm amazed how quickly I'm readjusting to the culture. I am remembering what I loved about it, and what I didn't. That is the beauty of any place, though, as both make it what it is. There is much to love. Just how much family is integrated into every daily task, activity, and aspect of life. Family is not just a part of their lives, it is their lives (more on this to come). How LOVELY and WARM the wome...

The Homemade Renegade: New Year's Goals: Who's Watching You?
http://thehomemaderenegade.blogspot.com/2011/12/new-years-goals-whos-watching-you.html
Friday, December 30, 2011. New Year's Goals: Who's Watching You? Everyone loves a fresh start; a new, crisp blank page on which we can write our future. Beginning a new year gives us that chance. Celebrating what was behind, or closing the door, we look hope-full toward what lies ahead. Sometimes, though, we don't know where to start and how to actually accomplish those things we've set out to do. There needs to be another PERSON on the other end of the agreement. The Homemade Renegade: July 2011

Sunday, July 24, 2011. He calls me "Mama". There have been moments in motherhood that feel so sacred to me that I can hardly breathe. They come unexpected, and often in the ordinary moments of the day. Tears usually run down my face, but I try to hold them back, for fear that they will get in the way of the gift. Tonight was one of those moments. How much do I want this kind of pure relationship with each of the children God has allowed? Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—...

The Homemade Renegade: Christmas Morning Creme Brûlée French Toast
http://thehomemaderenegade.blogspot.com/2011/12/christmas-morning-creme-brulee-french.html
Saturday, December 10, 2011. Christmas Morning Creme Brûlée French Toast. There was a time I was getting up at the crack of dawn (after being up late stuffing stockings and such) to fix monkey bread and other fun holiday morning deliciousness - what in the world was I thinking? Running myself ragged is NOT my idea of a meaningful Christmas day. Enter. make ahead breakfast dishes! It revolutionized the morning for me. You can even freeze it and de-thaw if you really want to avoid the last minute rush.

Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Quick and Easy Summer Herb Marinade. In the summer this is my go-to marinade. Essential ingredients in any good marinade are an acid (like lemon juice), a fat (oil), salt, and flavorings. I am herb-crazy-woman in the summer since I only get to use them from my garden for 3 months. Every day I make something with herbs in it, or I at least put mint sprigs in my water. For this easy chicken recipe, whip out the food processor and throw in:. Kosher Salt - a couple of teaspoons.
