Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder: February Review
http://microstakesgrinder.blogspot.com/2013/03/february-review.html
Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder. JH1's poker, politics, and life blog. Sunday, 3 March 2013. February continued to work out very well for me. I'm not entirely sure anymore if it was just the super soft site I was/am playing on or something I changed in my game while simultaneously switching sites. I've put in some hours at Stars and FTP again when my fishy Euro site was down or low on traffic without any difference in winrate. 34 buyins 16k hands 21 bb/100*. 44 buyins 32k hands 14 bb/100. Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder: Stars 'Monopoly'
http://microstakesgrinder.blogspot.com/2012/04/i-just-wanted-to-address-some-of.html
Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder. JH1's poker, politics, and life blog. Wednesday, 25 April 2012. I just wanted to address some of the 'monopoly' talk going on since the jaw dropping news came out about a potential Stars purchase of FTP. There's a lot of worry out there about what Stars would do with an outright monopoly on the online poker industry. After thinking about this for a while here's some of my thoughts. The industry, but what does that mean in terms of how far they can push the envelope?

Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder: Back to Stars and Stars 2013 Changes
http://microstakesgrinder.blogspot.com/2012/12/back-to-stars-and-stars-2013-changes.html
Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder. JH1's poker, politics, and life blog. Monday, 3 December 2012. Back to Stars and Stars 2013 Changes. I managed to clear out about 1/3 of my Deal Me In bonus on Full Tilt before it expired. I took another week off during that promotion to work on some other things I'm enjoying like my self-paced programming courses. The old me would have played 24/7 to get that free money. The new me still couldn't care less about anything volume related. Live at the Amsterdam VIP Party ...

Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder: I'm back
http://microstakesgrinder.blogspot.com/2012/10/im-back.html
Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder. JH1's poker, politics, and life blog. Sunday, 21 October 2012. I almost threw in the towel. People seem to blog less when they are losing. I'm no exception. Over the summer I had a couple of my best months this year followed by my two worst months ever. There were two main problems with my game. I was happy again. No stress. The weight of Supernova off my shoulders. I could do whatever I wanted instead of being chained to my desk. But after two weeks, I ...Not the stres...

Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder: HH Review: Min 3-Bet Pot Mistake
http://microstakesgrinder.blogspot.com/2013/02/hh-min-3-bet-pot-mistake.html
Thoughts of a Microstakes Grinder. JH1's poker, politics, and life blog. Monday, 18 February 2013. HH Review: Min 3-Bet Pot Mistake. Something I never did on Stars was mix stakes. I just found it too confusing. With the lack of traffic on my new site, I'm finding it's much better for my winrate if I do mix in three or even four stakes for the highest fish ratio. It's interesting how I've started thinking more in terms of SPR than in $ or even in bb. 010/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em - 5 players. These likely sh...

http://microaments.blogspot.com/2009/07/june-results.html
One man's journey through the limits. Wednesday, July 8, 2009. June Results* * *. Bit late on this. Here's my graph for June:. Mostly 20NL with some 50Nl thrown in. Winrate @ 20nl was only 5.65BB/100 over 10k hands. Played well enough though and I've been tilting a lot less as well which is great. For July I'm going back to FR for a month to do a team challenge on 2 2, gonna post a full update tomorrow, 31k hands in already though! July 10, 2009 at 1:53 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Dissecting Poker: MTR Special - BalugaWhale 3-Bet
http://dissectingpoker.blogspot.com/2010/11/mtr-special-balugawhale-3-bet.html
Wednesday, November 3, 2010. MTR Special - BalugaWhale 3-Bet. When deciding whether or not to call a 3-bet OOP, you need to be sure that your opponent's range is polarized and you are crushing it. If your opponent 3-bets you and shows up with a hand like TT or AJ, you might need to re-evaluate your options as he might have a depolarized range. Someone with a big 3-bet % most likely has a polarized range. There are only so many strong broadway hands you can 3-bet. Now what about 4-betting AA? 4-betting an...
