Fall is in the Air | Threads and Yarns
https://threadsandyarns.wordpress.com/2016/08/05/fall-is-in-the-air
Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. 8230;and tales from the woods. Larr; Spinning Lessons. Fall is in the Air. Our redwood trees started shedding the first dried branchlets this week. It’s a gray day with a hint of cool drizzle in the air – a jeans and sweatshirt day. My antidote to the grey is this merino yarn I had spun awhile ago and put in my stash. Easy pattern for a scarf and great color. View all posts by ro848 ». Posted on August 5, 2016, in Uncategorized.

Treadling, Heather and a Hungry Squirrel. Today has been mostly cloudy after almost 1 and a half inches of gentle rain in 24 hours. Skip to main content. Skip to primary sidebar. Skip to secondary sidebar. 8230;and tales from the woods. Larr; Andean Plying. Fall is in the Air →. I have learned some valuable lessons from participating in Tour de Fleece. One we all know but don’t always apply: Practice makes perfect. I have seen a steady improvement in my spinning over the course of the tour. I am more consistent in my spinning as well as being able to better control the thickness and twist of my yarn. Color is still my passion. I avoi...

Sleepy Primitive quilt success (ish) – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/05/05/sleepy-primitive-quilt-success-ish
Sleepy Primitive quilt success (ish). May 5, 2015. May 5, 2015. To be fair this photo is of some cows with calves so they are innocent of the charge of noise nuisance although the new bull Rusty is amongst them and he definitely was guilty as charged. Anyway today i am very droopy. So very little sewing so far. But i have been making progress in the evenings with my primitive quilt pattern from Jeni from the Willow. My goals for May. Anyway that counts as 7 in my book! Is on hold ready to take with me wh...

Hooray for Thursdays – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/07/30/hooray-for-thursdays
July 30, 2015. July 30, 2015. It’s probably qualifies as a new did group! It’s really due to be replaced as it was only bought as a temporary measure by the lady who rented here before we moved in. … and we’ve been here 10 years now too… but there is no point replacing it until the boys are a bit older and there is less debris. Anyway I’m feeling much happier now it’s cleaner. And no, there is no chance a baby will appear this time… but its a great excuse. And now time for a cup of tea🙂. You are comment...

If at first you don’t succeed – cheat – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/05/04/if-at-first-you-dont-succeed-cheat
If at first you don’t succeed cheat. May 4, 2015. I had an excellent idea…. I have always admired Project Linus. My first attempt: This was cutting the correct shapes and then sewing them together… except my brain could NOT cope with the triangles! It took 3 attempts to manage to cut a pair right! Following that i then struggled to cut the sky on the same angle and the first time i tried i didn’t have enough fabric in the right place! So i left it for a couple of weeks. And i added it to my May goals.

I’m not counting! – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/06/07/im-not-counting
I’m not counting! June 7, 2015. Anyway it was bliss – I always go a little haywire with all the lovely tempting fabric around. This year I went with a shopping list of two things. Secondly I was looking for Christmas fabrics. I wish to make a Christmas table topper and I haven’t previously been interested in Christmas fabrics so this is to start my stash in this direction. On the other hand I’m still considering my design options! I’m thinking that a tree design in applique would be good🙂. Enter your em...

The April round up. April 30, 2016. May 1, 2016. Anyway back to a recap of my April goals – how did I do? I managed a few hexagons, but not many. My clever plan of designating Thursdays as hexagondays was OK for a couple of weeks but then I fizzled out. 2 Rambling ways quilt. My aim was to compete my second block and I did so early on in the month – hooray. 3 That town and country quilt. 4 The rowdy flat library quilt. And on my petal cushion. I ordered my kit from wool warehouse and it promptly arrived&...

Time flies – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/06/26/time-flies
June 26, 2015. Phew i don’t know where the time has gone. Life just plods on as usual nothing particularly exciting to report. Just the usual work/home routine. I’ve done some sewing in the evenings, but not as much as before mainly because my eldest has been refusing to go to bed on time so there is usually an hour of battle with him and then it’s about my bedtime! I have now made 10 large blocks. 8230;and 22 small haystack blocks. I’m not counting! Hot hot hot and sad. 4 thoughts on “ Time flies. Thank...

May 31, 2015. Gosh what a month. We had three weeks of Chicken Pox! First my eldest got it, then after 10 days the youngest came down with it too. So i’ve spent the month trying to cover childcare for poorly kids as i needed to be at work. Having said that i’ve still been busy sewing as its my way to relax on an evening… and i’ve needed it more than ever this month! I set myself some targets. Charity quilt blocks x3. School holidays – the creative heifer
https://thecreativeheifer.wordpress.com/2015/08/14/school-holidays
August 14, 2015. We are still in the midst of school holidays here. And today is the last morning of the lads going to the childminder as she is on holiday for the next 3 weeks too. So chaos is about to reign here. I’m doing less and less sewing as the boys are needing so much entertainment. Roll on 3 weeks time when the school reopens. Secondly I’m crocheting some 12″ granny squares which are very helpful for doing whilst sitting and waiting for my eldest to finish his swimming lesson. Long Time No Blog!

October 31, 2012. My favorite holiday has finally arrived! Lady Gaga's meat dress. Want to get the look too? Here's how I did it:. 4 yds off white cotton gauze. Box of Scarlet Red RIT dye. Slightly moisten gauze then tie it into little knots and balls. Pour dye into a bucket with warm water. You barely need any at all, perhaps an inch deep. Dip tied gauze into bucket in various spots, DO NOT SATURATE fabric! Save scraps to make hat and shoe covers! Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? FOLLOW ME ON BLOGLOVIN!
