sharon o young: Back to a wet and windy autumn
http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/2014/10/back-to-wet-and-windy-autumn.html
A general blog for everyday happenings. Tuesday, 21 October 2014. Back to a wet and windy autumn. We're back from our travels in France, we had far too nicer time and the weather has been very unkind since we returned. Still the upside is we've been catching up with our children and grandchildren, whom I'm very pleased to say missed us a lot while we were on our 5 week treck. 2 little people who definitely missed us were our youngest grandchildren, Sam and Pippa. We had a fabulous weekend, it was so nice...

sharon o young: February 2014
http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
A general blog for everyday happenings. Monday, 10 February 2014. No green stuff please were cake eaters. We're taking a break from looking after our little grandson while his mummy and daddy settle his sister into family life. I think he's getting used to the idea. Him and grandad think she's champion. We decided we would take a bracing walk along the barrage in Cardiff bay and reward ourselves with a lovely cake and hot chocolate when we got to the gallery. And then went on to the walk. I had a mini ta...

sharon o young: Back to the Loire Valley and longing for lace
http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/2014/10/back-to-loire-valley-and-longing-for.html
A general blog for everyday happenings. Saturday, 4 October 2014. Back to the Loire Valley and longing for lace. From Martel we moved slowly North until we got to the Loire Valley, the land of chateaux around every corner. This is Loches and although we didn't go in it was really beautiful from the outside. These lambs were pretty stunning too on one of the tombs in the church. Next stop, Amboise with this wonderful chapel perched on top of the battlements. Plenty of textiles to admire here. Yesterday we...

sharon o young: Winter
http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/2015/01/winter.html
A general blog for everyday happenings. Thursday, 22 January 2015. It was lovely and sunny this morning, but very cold, so we lit the stove and had hot chocolate. I finished a charcoal sketch of my garden, and beyond, it felt good to be back to getting dirty hands pushing it around the parer. I hung the African mask here, it feels more comfortable than it did in our living room! 22 January 2015 at 21:36. As always sounds idyllic. 23 January 2015 at 10:04. 23 January 2015 at 10:53. sharon o young: January 2014
http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
A general blog for everyday happenings. Tuesday, 28 January 2014. We seem to be spending almost every day at our little bit of Hobbit heaven at the moment. It's so lovely to have somewhere to go and play, with the doors open and a warm stove to keep your feet toasty. I made current bread the other day, just right for the Hobbit hole size of the pot belly's mouth. We used the toasting fork given to us by our grandson Ben. It didn't last long, too many hungry Hobbits about. Lovely tea in dainty boxes.

sharon o young: July 2014
http://sharonoyoung.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
A general blog for everyday happenings. Wednesday, 2 July 2014. Bursting at the seams. Our allotments are in full production as you can imagine with all this lovely growing weather, and even (the reluctant gardener) has to succumb to some work. I've been harvesting my mint that I dry to make peppermint tea, excellent for the digestion. As you can see I was allowed to use the inner sanctum of the greenhouse to dry them off, bet Monty Don wouldn't allow silly pegs in his greenhouse :-).
