The Three Cairns approach. The Three Cairns approach. A cairn is a Scottish word for a pile of stones gradually assembled by pilgrims on a journey. The Three Cairns approach. I am currently counselling in South Croydon at the Harvest Centre. The first session I offer is an introductory session which includes an assessment and the opportunity to find out how we might work together. The assessment session and all subsequent sessions are 50 minutes long. The assessment session costs the same as all subsequent sessions. The daytime rate on Tuesday to Friday up to and including the 5pm session is £35 for individuals, £45 for couples.
