Friday, May 30, 2014. Kale learned a whole lot this year in Kindergarten. (Not the least of which was the idea of staying on someone else's task for several minutes at a time! His least and most liked subjects were, respectively, reading and science. His ultimate motivation was the school prize box (pick your prize once you reach a per-determined goal: he's sporting one of his prizes in the picture below). Tuesday, August 21, 2012. First day of third grade! Today is Jax's first day of third grade! Last night we went and met with his teacher for back to school night. She seems really nice. I think that he was starting to get pretty nervous as the night went on. As he was getting out of the shower and brushing his teeth he said um. "Mom I have some major anxiety." I had to laugh. What 8 year old knows how to talk like that? I reassured him everything was going to be fine and he was going to love third grade!

Instead of trying to do something that would help people, we turned to bacon. For the appetizers, jalapenos and oysters were wrapped in bacon and grilled.
