A Hess in the Holy Land: My Sojourn in Jerusalem: "Ring the Bells of Freedom!"
http://middleeastmatt.blogspot.com/2010/11/ring-bells-of-freedom.html
A Hess in the Holy Land: My Sojourn in Jerusalem. Friday, November 5, 2010. Ring the Bells of Freedom! Here’s a picture (there was a little boy drunk out of his mind across the street, by the way- grotesquely poetic):. Think about the conflict in the Middle East as you read the song. I’ll put some words in Mr. Jovi’s mouth and say that Jesus’ influence is implied in these verses ;). Http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Or http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? I have walked all alone On these streets, I call home. I'm a...

always bring your own sunshine: Hot (Skype) Dates
http://jmmaughan.blogspot.com/2010/08/hot-skype-dates.html
Always bring your own sunshine. Saturday, August 7, 2010. Friday, August 6, 2010. Tonight, we had a skype date. I say 'date,' but really we'd just decided to skype tonight, so I'm not entirely sure it classifies as a date, especially when it was interrupted by my dad and his brother and brother's girlfriend. Regardless, it was quite fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I believe in the power of positive thinking. And that laughing is the best form of exercise. View my complete profile.

A Hess in the Holy Land: My Sojourn in Jerusalem: 25 Oct 2010: concluding a bomb.com week
http://middleeastmatt.blogspot.com/2010/10/25-oct-2010-concluding-bombcom-week.html
A Hess in the Holy Land: My Sojourn in Jerusalem. Monday, October 25, 2010. 25 Oct 2010: concluding a bomb.com week. Wow, what a week! We've been pretty busy! I suppose there's no need for small talk so I might as well jump right into it:. 1) snorkeling in Eilat; we took a bus early in the morning down to the Gulf of Aqaba and spent the day swimming! I love french fries, and I miss them desperately. Thus they tasted wonderful! I also walked along a weird (and long! And of course the grape juice bottles l...

always bring your own sunshine: O Little Town of Bethlehem
http://jmmaughan.blogspot.com/2010/10/o-little-town-of-bethlehem.html
Always bring your own sunshine. Wednesday, October 27, 2010. O Little Town of Bethlehem. These are the people I ended up meeting: Zuhoor and Sister Lena. When we walked up, they were talking to each other. As friends. Proof that we really all can get along. While I was busy mingling in my own way, the boys in our group were mingling in theirs. To each their own I guess! You'd never have to take down your Christmas lights! Oh and all those people? Apparently the star was actually really disgusting; anothe...

always bring your own sunshine: Sabbath in Jerusalem
http://jmmaughan.blogspot.com/2010/10/sabbath-in-jerusalem.html
Always bring your own sunshine. Saturday, October 2, 2010. There are several things here that take a fair amount of getting used to. Like the smells of a city without laws against littering. Or the protein-filled, curry-infused, unfortunately-mushroom-laced food at the Center that still causes problems with many students' bowels. (Luckily not mine, or else I wouldn't have mentioned it.). School" here, and it's never "during our meetings next Sunday. When I first arrived here, I was astonished by how evid...

always bring your own sunshine: My First Jerusalem Experience
http://jmmaughan.blogspot.com/2010/09/my-first-jerusalem-experience.html
Always bring your own sunshine. Saturday, September 4, 2010. My First Jerusalem Experience. Since I am apparently abysmal at sticking to a once-a-day blog, I decided to transform this little experiment of mine into something different: a blog of my experiences in Jerusalem (and elsewhere). Don't expect anything close to daily. I'd rather be out seeing and doing than sitting at a computer writing about it. What an experience it was! Everything here seems to be that way - something I would never see in my ...

The First Day of My Life: April 2012
http://taliafinley.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 24, 2012. Yesterday Riley HAD to study for his finals, so I decided that I would stay out of his hair and not distract him. It was so nice outside so I decided to ride my bike to the Creamery to get milk. We buy three gallons for five dollars at the Creamery and we go through them like crazy. I think its because we eat so much cereal (cereal=cheap), or maybe its because my husband has a bottomless stomach. And the next millisecond I thought, No. Not worth it. I'm glad my common sen...Siden...

The First Day of My Life: February 2012
http://taliafinley.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 24, 2012. Even though I loved our old house, we've moved to a new apartment. It has so many great things that we've never had! AKA a dishwasher, a washer and dryer, another bedroom, and its WAY bigger. Plus we get free rent, so why wouldn't we love living here? I never put up pictures of our old house, but it was just so cute- I had to take a few before we left. I'll put up pictures of our new house sometime. Also, we bought a new car. And the heater works in it. We're really moving up.
