My recent work uses native and wild clays imbedded with collected granite, slate and feldspar to create both tea and tableware, as well as vases and sculptural forms. The “Sierra Series” is taken from my love of the Sierra Nevada mountains. I spend many weeks a year in the high Sierra, and have been inspired the granite, the light, the rivers, trees and mountains. The Mystery of the Cows. I'm not sure why, but this first photo is one of my favorites from the whole trip. The sky was a brilliant blue and the cows were grazing peacefully.
