Sunday, June 02, 2013. You would know it, the one time I did not bring my good camera to California, it turns out to be a mistake, but then again how was I to know how colourful my stay would prove to be? The California air is redolent with perfumed memories of my younger life, embodying a particular rushing voice, a visual beauty unlike any other – golden light, dream time, colour and paint, lines of yearning, the night, a soft cloak of warm air. 8217; The visualisations helped and became a lesson in co...

Reflections on my Path. Christmas always brought a mix of feelings and events to our house. I looked forward to the fresh smell of the tree but not the tedious decorating. I looked forward … Continue reading →. May 9, 2011 · Leave a comment. The Hallway of Infinite Possibilities. I have a friend that constantly says “When one door closes, another opens. Mom Returns to Ettlingen | Marian Love
https://marianlove1.wordpress.com/2011/12/16/mom-returns-to-ettlingen
Reflections on my Path. Mom Returns to Ettlingen. Sometimes I have dreams that have a certain sort of feel to them – like they are messages or predictions. It is hard for me to communicate about them because I don’t really know what they mean until they happen, so I stay quiet. Sometimes I sketch them out so that I can remember them. December 2009 is when I had one of those dreams. Mom was calm and warm and looking forward down the path towards The Light. Her I realized very recently that there was some ...

Grackle War | Marian Love
https://marianlove1.wordpress.com/2012/04/06/grackle-war
Reflections on my Path. I love gardening and observing nature of all kinds. Trees, streams, mountains, birds, animals, sunsets, horizons, and even simply clouds. One year, my (now ex) husband decided to put a bird feeder in our backyard. He researched what types of feeders to use to attract different types of birds, what kind of seed to use, and how to keep squirrels off of the feeder. He firmly planted a high thin tubular hook into the ground and hung his feeder. That tree shed a lot of little branches ...

The Opportunity to Love and Heal | Marian Love

Reflections on my Path. The Opportunity to Love and Heal. 8220;If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” Milton Berle. Missed opportunities are sad. There are moments of truth in our lives where opportunities present themselves. I wonder how many of us recognize them and I wonder how many of us actualize that opportunity. Dad died two weeks prior to my first day back in school. I was in shock as I went to my locker, got my books, and headed for my first class which was an Early Bird class so that ...

Reflections on my Path. I am a lover of art. All kinds of art; modern, ancient, oils, acrylics, pencil, sketches, sculpture, photography, giclees…. I explored different mediums when I was a kid because my Mom worked at Sanford Ink Company and she would regularly bring home tempera paints, water colors, magic markers, pens, and pencils. I was in art Heaven and my friends were all jealous. Who cared… I loved my art supplies! Did I mention I love art? I love art and want to share my passion for it with you.

Dead and Angry in the Pool | Marian Love
https://marianlove1.wordpress.com/2011/12/14/dead-and-angry-in-the-pool
Reflections on my Path. Dead and Angry in the Pool. My brother and I were swimming at our childhood community pool in my dream last night. Dad was the maintenance foreman there and he took care of the pool and grounds every day. Always kept a clean pool, while chlorine permeated everything we did during our summers. This time, I was worried he would hurt himself on the bottom of the pool, so just as he dove off of the high dive, I dove down to the bottom of the pool to watch out for him. Enter your comme...

The Skunk in Flagstaff | Marian Love
https://marianlove1.wordpress.com/2012/04/04/the-skunk-in-flagstaff
Reflections on my Path. The Skunk in Flagstaff. When Dad retired from the Army back in the 1960s, he moved us from California to Illinois where he was born and raised, and where his family lived. We had to travel across country in our non-air conditioned station wagon. Our on-base house passed inspection, the movers came and took all of our household belongings away, and we were left with needed luggage, sleeping bags, and food. WOW – it was cold out there! Having since lived in Arizona’s high coun...

My Art | Marian Love
https://marianlove1.wordpress.com/art/my-art
Reflections on my Path. While on vacation in Greer, Arizona, I snapped a photograph of my now ex-husband casting his fly fishing line into the Black River up in the White Mountains. Being a lifelong Bass fisherman, he was excited to learn fly fishing and caught on to it very quickly. He must have caught about 30 Apache Trout that week – all catch and release of course. In total, this piece measures about 3′ x 4′. My second art class at The Sedona Arts Center. Was with Richard Drayton. Address never made ...
