Group 51: planning session 1
http://thriller11group51.blogspot.com/2011/07/planning-session-1.html
The standoff. Tony/Mickey/Annabel. Friday, 8 July 2011. We worked together to discuss the genres suggested and to consider conventions of real media and how we could apply them with limited time, and resources. Whilst we did consider working within the Rom-com genre with a western feel, we moved towards a western and developed the ideas of using bikes and an alley way for a standoff as we didn't have easy access to horses, deserts, ghost towns, tumbleweed or large mountainous areas.

The standoff. Tony/Mickey/Annabel. Friday, 15 July 2011. This is my version - we decided to have 2 different versions so that we could experience more of the processes ourselves rather than let someone else dominate. Not entirely happy with this - it's quite entertaining but I think there are 2 many pieces of music - experimenting with Soundtrack - and not enough CUs or variety of shot really. But for 1 afternoon's filming and a morning's editing it worked quite well. Friday, 8 July 2011. The filming wen...

The standoff. Tony/Mickey/Annabel. Friday, 8 July 2011. Location shots - uploaded after filming but filmed before! This is our first idea to use owen's park. Tony with his horse/bike. Preparation for the filming. A different location - we chose not to use this as it was heavily utilised by pedestrians. Another option - again we chose not to use this. partly due to the rubbish bins. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Location shots - uploaded after filming but filmed.

The standoff. Tony/Mickey/Annabel. Friday, 8 July 2011. After a short break for a delicious lunch we planned the following shots and organised our filming in advance in order to best use our precious time. Lift shot of OWens Field to establish area, using Mickey in his Baddie outfit. Close up of removing key from pocket. Foot on bike with socks tucked in. Cycling with post office tower in shot. Low angle of wheels. Panning shot of cycling. Shots of two cowboys on bikes. Shot of bikes rearing up.

Friday, 8 April 2011. 8) Looking back at your prelim film, what do you feel you have learnt in the proggresion from it to the full product. From our prelim film we have learnt alot it was good preparation for our final film. Our film knockout had a few mistakes and missed some vital close which could have made it alot better. Here we should have did a close up because you cant really see my facial expression. We learnt this and showed it by doing close ups on my face in our final film. Overall our film c...

Thursday, 7 April 2011. 4/5 what kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? How would you attract/address your audience? As our film is done on a student production, low budget we would have to distribute it as a independent film as we don't have enough money to afford a big mainstream production. To advertise my film i would have to use the internet as it is the best and cheapest source to advertise small independent films. They may use Youtube to advertise their film becuase...

Friday, 8 April 2011. This is the type of thing that our taget audience would like. They would like regularly going to he cinema with their cineworld unlimited card, allowing them to watch as many films as they want. There favorite genre would be thriller and horror as they like the suspense and tension. Copy of My progression. EVALUATION: Question 6 audience feedback Video. A similarity is the way that the titles are positioned, they are done in a way so the focus isn't taken off what is happening behin...

Thursday, 7 April 2011. EVALUATION 8- Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product? For both of the thriller opening and the prelim we planned out what we are going to do, like what we are going to need, we brainstormed on a sheet of paper every one contributed to their thoughts and what they through might make it interesting and good. Then for our prelim we created an animatic by using jelly babies. Everyone was organised, we rea...

Friday, 8 April 2011. 8)Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? From the time at which my group and I made our prelim, we have made a substantial amount of progression. This progression and development of our idea's, ability and understanding, led us to create our final thriller opening production. We Have also gained understanding on how to. We chose to use young actors and gave the film a plot that would appeal to both male...

Friday, 8 April 2011. EVALUATION Q 8 Progression in FCP. Labels: Judith Martinez Sanchez. Q8: Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it to the full product? From my preliminary task to my final film has been a long process where i have learnt and improved a number of skills when filming and editing my film Foursquare. We wanted it to match the Psychological themes of our thriller. Also we thought about props in this shot, like the mascara is a...

Friday, 8 April 2011. Evaluation: Question 3 - Target Audience. Looking at it from a different perspective quite a few women would want to go see it because of attraction to the male character. Because it is a pycological thriller many older people around the ages of 30 would like to watch it because it gives them a film they could enjoy better compared to a film like 'Legally Blonde' or 'Twilight'.
