I get out of the van and start heading to the house when I notice a group of women and young girls standing at the entrance-gate still wide open. 8220;Bonswa” I say–their response? 8220;Shut the gate” I said-and she shot off like a bullet from a gun-gimping. One leg bent, the other too stiff and scabbed to bend. Red flag #1. Boy was she quick though. 8220;Where’s your mom? 8221;-she doesn’t have one.
