Photos and annotations from Steve's treks hither and yon. About a month ago, I rented a houseboat, the Sunflower, with an old friend and spent a week boating up and down the Erie Canal. It was a fantastic trip. We stopped at little canal towns along the way. These towns still maintain much of their character from when they thrived in the 1800s. We also spent a night in Rochester which is New York’s third largest city. I hope these pictures persuade you to make a similar voyage down some inland waterway.

After lunch we visited the Shwenandaw Monastery, a gorgeous wooden building made of finely carved teak. The warm light that bounced around inside this building was magnificent. Through storms and over rainbows. Gifts for our little ladybug. June 2, 2015. June 2, 2015. Have you noticed how the world is covered in ladybugs this summer? I sure have and my kids sure have! Ladybugs are pretty special to us. During Cara’s funeral we watched one crawl all over the table that held her tiny casket. Since then we refer to her as our little ladybug and my kids say it’s God’s way of letting her say Hi to us. 8221; I just said she sure is buddy and whispered a little thank you God to the sky.
