Through This Lens » Change is always hard

http://throughthislens.net/2014/01/12/changes-tell-stories

Perspectives on the things I see. 2014 eric.bensley@gmail.com. Change is always hard. Change is always hard. We always think we’re adaptable and fluid until something comes along and changes our normal. We’ve had Arlie, our yellow lab mix, for about three years and we recently adopted a new dog, Finnegan. Finnegan is about a year and half old terrier mix. He’s a great dog and we honestly couldn’t imagine life before he came into the picture. This entry was written by eric.bensley@gmail.com. Perspectives on the things I see. 2014 eric.bensley@gmail.com. When we’re kids, every story ends in happily ever after. The problem with happily ever after is that it’s a destination. Happily ever after makes us think that happiness is attained and then perpetual. One day everything changes and you live happily ever after. This entry was written by eric.bensley@gmail.com. Perspectives on the things I see. 2014 eric.bensley@gmail.com. Pictures tell stories. The way they are framed decides what you see. Sometimes they distort and sometimes they are a perfect freeze frame of reality. My dad is where I get the passion for documentation and pictures. He’s always loved history and knowledge. He get’s lost in non-fiction and war stories that most people only read in school textbooks. I admire his passion for history. This entry was written by eric.bensley@gmail.com.

Through This Lens » Perspective Matters…A LOT!

http://throughthislens.net/2014/01/21/perspective-matters-a-lot

Perspectives on the things I see. 2014 eric.bensley@gmail.com. Perspective Matters…A LOT! I was surprised when I first saw this view because I didn’t realize the Ferry Building was directly at the end of Market. I was also surprised by how small it looks which got me thinking about perspective. Perspective means changing the frame by which you see things to give you the advantage. If something feels too big, you may just be looking at it from the wrong angle. January 21, 2014 at 2:37 am. Older: Find a Way.

Through This Lens » Start Something

http://throughthislens.net/2014/03/04/start-something

Perspectives on the things I see. 2014 eric.bensley@gmail.com. T here’s nothing quite as thrilling and debilitating as the thought of starting something new. I’ve been starting a lot of things lately and at times it can be overwhelming. My entire philosophy this year is to start things, even in the absence of perfect information or goals. Everything about my life has been deliberate and premeditated. This has worked for me until now but I need to step into uncertain opportunities to move forward.

The "Helga G. Pataki" Syndrome

The "Helga G. Pataki" Syndrome. This is a compilation of the best moments of my most favorite cartoon character in the whole world: HELGA G. PATAKI. Episode 103: Arnold's Hat. A monument to my beloved.". And yet, something is missing. But what could it be? Helga, you're a genius.". What do I have to do anyway? All I want is a stupid hat! And world domination.". But right now just a hat! Is that too much to ask? I'll never get it. Never, never, never! No matter what I do, I'll never get Arnold's hat.".

Through Life

March 31, 2012. Pretty boring Saturday, and yet I’m really happy. I saw The Girl yesterday. It was good, even if it was only for a few hours. It was also a nice day out today, which was a good change from the last few. I hit up the gym, I’m going to try and start going every day if I can. Get myself in shape for the summer of sports. The biggest thing I am going for is conditioning. Running and high rep weight training. Getting lean and mean as it were. Posted 3 years ago. March 26, 2012. March 25, 2012.
