Eat Sleep. Geology. Wednesday, September 30, 2009. Social Networking for the Geologist. Now enter Twitter. I'm super-curious what Twitter could do for the organization. Not just a particular committee like the NeoGeos, but the HGS as a whole. How many people would follow the largest local geological society? Would it contribute to an increase in membership? Would it increase attendance at the various lunch and dinner meetings? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Houston, Texas, United States. En Tequila Es Verdad.

Eat Sleep. Geology. Sunday, July 25, 2010. A neoGeo-blogger's View of the Geoblogosphere. I just realized that this blog has been up for over a year now. I haven't been quite as active at blogging as I hoped I might be, but it has been a fun experience to frame up my thoughts, work through the writer's block, and connect with the vast online community. To celebrate this belated anniversary, I'm jumping into my first official contribution to The Accretionary Wedge blog carnival. The History of Geology.

May 9, 2016. Monday Geology Picture: Green Countertop. I’m traveling for business at the moment and living out of hotel rooms for a week or so. My current hotel room has a pretty green rock for the bathroom countertop. It’s most likely a green soapstone of some sort. Can anyone identify those interesting black minerals? May 2, 2016. Taking a geoscientist on vacation. I’m getting ready to take my first long vacation-with-friends in quite a while, and I’m very happy to be following the trend of geologists going to Iceland. Suffice to say that there will be scads of photos when I’m there, when I get back, and probably for a few months afterwards. (Can you tell I’m excited?
