More pics on Dav's gallery. Aaaah, the weather could not be better for the Thunderace gathering organized by the German thunderace-club. A steady 3 hour twist of the throttle took me to Losheim am See, in Germany close to the Luxembourg border. The last 40 miles or so twisted through green hills, some crowned with gigantic wind generators, turning slowly in a mild breeze. The arrival was very warm hearted, although I knew only Pablo and Evi, I felt immediately accepted as a fellow thunderacer.

Seems like the Thunderace. Radiator takes a lot of beating over the years, rocks and debri bend the fins, till it looses a significant portion of its cooling cappacity. Might be the solution. I bought a piece of aluminium, gold anodized mesh screen from a hardware store. Mmmm, it was the only thing available this morning. First things first, meassuring the radiator and transfering this to the mesh. Then creating some brackets from aluminium plate. The mesh up with a pair of tin-snips.

R6 rear brake conversion. Why should anyone perform this conversion? Well as my rear caliper jammed on the motorway half a year back (and caught fire), I went looking for a replacement. June 2007] Alternatives for fan switch. The placement of the fan switch and the thermostat on the Thunderace isn't very convenient. First of all, the temperature gauge only starts moving at a pretty high temp, so in everyday use you're lucky to see it move at all. The hand hardly ever leaves the peg. The fans only start at temperatures above 105 deg. Celsius, which makes some aces piss out some coolant at very irregular intervals. Cross reference to switches of other brands. To be reliable and fast.
