Fair Garden: August 2015

Friday, August 07, 2015. Always opens new experiences. Going anywhere with two boys involves negotiations since Mom’s plans and Grandma’s wishes (those anticipated adult-driven activities) are not always amenable to the intense plans and mindsets, the tight razor-sharp focus and tenacious schemes, the dreams of the day’s arrangement and the emotional tenor of what would make the 7-year-old and his brother happy. Of course, the older brother. One of the roses spangled with. Roses and the first Fairy House.

Fair Garden: September 2014

Friday, September 26, 2014. I have the pitcher. Stuff and nonsense. Someone used to use this ejaculation when cleaning or packing or moving things in and out of boxes. Who was it? Grandma or Aunt Lola? Mom or Aunt Noreen? Not that the source matters much, it is a phrase in the back of my mind every time I try to organize the contents of my house. The hardest items to place and organize are those with memories. Can you relate to this problem? The American Fostoria pitcher is in front of a watercolor.

Monday, March 09, 2015. Eventually, I will be there, Lord. The world will not stop when I arrive, nor will there be tears of happiness. Because I paced with the clock’s spinning, because I negotiated the earth’s tilt. Stone Guardian, Paris. And clung within the gravitational hug,. Hearing laughter emanate from grandfather’s belly. I will arrive, eventually, and Wisdom will turn her pages. Pointing to words printed, painted, sung –. Throat to ink, scribe to typesetter, to the scanned document. I had thoug...

Friday, July 01, 2011. Welsh Rabbit or Welsh Rarebit? I am not the first to ask that question. I know I have had this discussion before, maybe with my mother. Is the lovely warm cheddar cheese melt called Welsh Rabbit or Welsh Rarebit? And we ate at Halle’s Geranium Room. Mom usually ordered the Rarebit. Welsh Rarebit was a leading luncheon item. At Euclid and East 14. Street which was across the street from the Hanna Building. Grandpa Lennon was a stockbroker at the Hanna Building for Murch and Company.

Fair Garden: August 2011
http://fairgarden.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 28, 2011. Swollen foot before the "boot" cast. There is a popular church song, "On Eagles' Wings" that promises that God will lift you up. Sometimes I find the Eagle's wings are more comforting when folded around me. H]e covers you with his feathers,. And you find shelter under his wings. It has been good to have a brief, forced time for sitting. There will be a time for standing, walking, and running. He gives strength to the wearied,. He strengthens the powerless. Youths may stumble,.

Saturday, May 30, 2015. The Weeds Have It - or - A Shaky Truce. Garden thoughts in May, 2015. Mother's statue is dwarfed by chives and buttercups. I think of Mary Oliver. 8217;s nature image: “ How necessary it is to have opinions! I think the spotted trout lilies are satisfied, standing a few inches above the earth. I think serenity is not something you just find in the world, like a plum tree, holding up its white petals.”. Coral bells from mother's garden. Forget-me-nots and grass and . . . I had thou...
