Monday, April 17, 2006. Marlins series postscript: Number crunching. I decided, being home sick, to look up some of the numbers from the series, and Marlins attendance figures. Here's what I found. Series Attendance: 38,877. Marlins Average: 14,561/game. Average not counting home opener: 11,212/game. Now, to provide some points of reference. Washington Home Opener Attendance: 40,530. Tampa Bay Average: 17,213. TB Non-opener Average: 13,382. Posted by thurdl @ 8:47 AM. Links to this post. The talk about m...

Thursday, June 29, 2006. NIH: Guess what. Livan's knee. Again. This is starting to seem like just a really bad joke right now, and I for one am not laughing. Livan Hernandez, he of the bum knee all last season, he of the repaired knee in the off season, he of the trade rumors in hopes of flipping him for prospects. God, it hurts even to say it. But according to the Post. I really wish I had less to blog about. Seriously. Can we stop with the injuries? Posted by thurdl @ 11:22 PM. Links to this post.

Sunday, November 27, 2005. So What do Wake Forest and FSU football have in common? As of the most recent AP polls, neither are ranked. Who has the longer active losing streak? Well, at three games going on four, it looks like FSU, as Wake only strung together two losses to end the season. Now, am I saying that we're a better football program than the Noles. Well, not as such. But it is nice to feel a little superior at times. Posted by thurdl @ 10:42 PM. Links to this post. Tuesday, November 22, 2005.

Friday, March 31, 2006. WMC: Team Profile Fenson. Meant to do a profile yesterday, but life got in the way, so today I'm going to try to get the last two in. First up is Team Fenson, also known as Team USA. If the US can pull off another strong performance, and end up in the Page Finals, it's going to be huge. We've done well at world championships in the past, but it would be great to see Team Fenson become a legitimate power on the world curling stage, and not just a one time fluke in Torino. I'd argue...

Saturday, December 03, 2005. Responce to Dan Shanoff. In the 12/02/2005 edition of the Daily Quicky, Dan Shanoff decided to display roughly the same level of unrestrained glee as he did the Monday after Wake was bumped by WVU in last year's tournament. The BCS has won," he snots, "It's not even worth having a BCS debate because there IS no debate: The system is working perfectly. The BCS haters are left with totally manufactured arguments about meaningless bowls.". Posted by thurdl @ 6:47 PM. Probably si...

Sunday, July 30, 2006. NIH: Patterson fears realizes.with Ryan Drese. Throughout this season's injury jerk around with John Patterson. I had one worry: that rushing him back would make things even worse. Now, a vindication of sorts, as Ryan Drese. Has suffered a significant setback during his rehab starts. That's a subject for another, more editorial piece I'm working on. In other Tommy John news, Jose Guillen. S surgery was a success, and his long rehab process is now starting. Saturday, February 18, 2006. Olympic Moment of Day Seven. Womens SBX. Actually, this is going to be an antimoment. Something to look at the positives I'm pulling out of the game, and to see them in context. First, this about Snowboard Cross: KICK ASS! Really damn exciting, and I think the heats are what do it. It's obvious who's doing better, because they're ahead! Posted by thurdl @ 10:27 AM. Links to this post. Friday, February 17, 2006. Olympic Moment of Day Six? Monday, August 29, 2005. And in other news, the Nats managed to not lose tonight! Posted by thurdl @ 10:22 PM. Links to this post. Saturday, August 27, 2005. Opposing fans annoy me. Which sucks, cause here in the DC area, there are so many people culled from all over the nation, and such a new team that there isn't the established fan base, that even when the Diamondbacks come to town there are plenty of opposing fans. Friday, September 30, 2005. I've noticed a popular tendency to declare various "Operations" when it comes to Nationals baseball. Operation: 87, Operation: 82.um.I'm sure there's been others. Well, with us eliminated, I can only really think of one thing that matters right now. Spite. Sour grapes. Take as many people down with us as we can! Operation: Sour Grapes hooooo!
