Puerhan: Morning train
http://puerhan.blogspot.com/2012/08/morning-train.html
Sight Sound Smell Taste Touch Thought. It's a strange orange glow. The rolling LED sign emits. Reflected in the dull fluorescent boxes. Marching the length of the ceiling. Still brighter than the morning light outside. Green fields, trees and hedges roll by. Through drizzle splattered windows. Steamy smudges accumulate between panes. As the heating blows furiously. In the warm reek of the carriage. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Follow me on Twitter. My eyes and his.

Somewhere in Dhamma…. August 20, 2011. I’ve finally had enough of the ads WordPress sticks to the bottom of my posts, so I’m moving to:. Http:/ somewhereindhamma.blogspot.com/. I’ve been considering it for a while, but was too attached to three years of stats to let go. In the end, the reader’s experience is the most important thing, so I’m doing it…. Apologies to all those who will have to edit links and stuff. Filed under Somewhere in Dhamma. 十 In the World. August 20, 2011. How many ages of suffering.

二 Discovering the Hoofprints | Somewhere in Dhamma...

Somewhere in Dhamma…. 二 Discovering the Hoofprints. August 10, 2011. Disoriented, distracted, unaware, and unmindful. At the bank of the river I sit for a moment to soak my feet. Hands cupped, I bring the cold, clear water to my face. Wet hands rubbing my neck. I feel the dirt running down my back. For the first time, I am aware of the smells surrounding me. Taking in a deep breath, I notice something…. Hoofprints in the soil, leading behind a bamboo grove. Even its ghostly snort is difficult to place.

Sight Sound Smell Taste Touch Thought. Who whistles while he plays. And sings while he works. And fills my heart up with joy. And that boy is you! Given as a paper note tied to the Christmas tree. Faces full of smiles. As we dance together. Of our two hearts. Given as a paper note tied to the Christmas tree. Cast long tangled shadows. It's easy to write a pretty poem. A ditty poem, a poem for you to sing. It's harder to write a short poem. A taut poem, a poem empty of any thing. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Puerhan: November 2010

Sight Sound Smell Taste Touch Thought. No path to follow. Footprints must be left. In freshly fallen snow. We plunder our own. Is there no limit. What we ask our. Our fathers and sons? So we can burn the black stuff. With deep sadness for the 29 miners lost in the Pike River Mine explosions. And the many tens. Of miners killed each year in accidents, and with deep. Condolences to the effected families and friends. The pain of their passing. A violent shockwave in my heart. A pulling at my bones.

五 Taming the Ox | Somewhere in Dhamma...

Somewhere in Dhamma…. 五 Taming the Ox. August 13, 2011. I don’t dare take my eyes off the ox for a single moment. The dust has just begun to settle. Still gripping the rope, it now hangs slack. Occasionally brushing the ground. The ox comes over and nudges my arm with its nose. I rub his forehead and scratch behind his ears. It’s time to move on. I loosen the knot from around the ox’s neck. He follows me by his own will. His dark coat becomes white. One does not let go of the whip or the rope,. Honestly,...

六 Riding the Ox Home | Somewhere in Dhamma...

Somewhere in Dhamma…. 六 Riding the Ox Home. August 16, 2011. Returning home at last. Piously, I sit on the ox’s shoulders. Every leaf and every twig greet us. With their inherent melody as we pass. I take a bamboo flute from my cloth bag. And play a tune in the key of “Om”. A cup of tea will be nice. So, from an experiential point of view, this is where the Ox Herding series gets really difficult, but at the same time, this is also where it gets profoundly simple. 三 Perceiving the Ox | Somewhere in Dhamma...
https://somewhereindhamma.wordpress.com/2011/08/11/percieving-the-ox
Somewhere in Dhamma…. 三 Perceiving the Ox. August 11, 2011. A magpie calls out from a branch above my head. At the sound, the clouds disappear. The mountain painted in the warm evening light. Bamboo rustles by the river. I’ve traced the ox into an open valley. Without a crag, gorge, or even a boulder to hide behind. Now what brush is there that holds enough ink. To render the full extent of his horns? Why do I even keep making an ox? Can you look at these words and see only the pixels of the screen?
