Some of my garden birds and a bee | Thymewarp

Rhythms of nature, living seasonally. Recipe how to’s. How to make tomato paste. Some of my garden birds and a bee. Grey Warbler. I am so happy for this tiny pair. This year they have raised two chicks. In the past three years they have raised a single fat shining cuckoo baby each season. I hear the cuckoos – but my clever parents beat them this year. These birds are a miracle – they are so tiny. Self seeded sprouting broccoli – I love the blossoms and so do the bees. Older: Rooster with no name.

Rhythms of nature, living seasonally. Recipe how to’s. How to make tomato paste. I’m Following a Tree. I planted this one when Manchild was born, for this project I am going to grow a seedling for him, but seedlings are not very interesting when they are underground, so the initial photos will be of the parent tree. Here is his pod:. One thought on “ Tree Following. Pingback: Tree Following Thymewarp. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Reconnecting with it all.

Rhythms of nature, living seasonally. Recipe how to’s. How to make tomato paste. Reconnecting with it all. The garden has provided well all summer. Tomatoes, peas, beans, cucumbers, capsicum, herbs, lettuce, spinach, silverbeet, celery, a few potatoes and yet to come pumpkins, melons and squash. Together this year we are going to get all that back in working order. So today’s starting topic is preserving. Let’s see where that ramble leads me. . . Spacing is my biggest mistake even when I think I have all...

Rhythms of nature, living seasonally. Recipe how to’s. How to make tomato paste. What do you do when your food looks like this? Get over yourself to begin with. They are dead and nothing will change that. So let their death not be in vain. I will expand on this page in time, but for now this is it…). The birds need to be immersed in hot, but not boiling water, this loosens the feathers for plucking. Only pluck what you have to. My way in the SCA, the A&S 50 challenge and other medieval stuff that crosses me. Dragon decisions… (or: I can’t decide). September 29, 2014. I can’t decide how to finish the dragon embroidery. I have three alternatives, but none seem really good. Can you help me, please? This is the current dragon progress:. It’s the best I could do with natural light (and you can get to the big version by clicking it). Do you see the nude-coloured part at the base of the wing? My way in the SCA, the A&S 50 challenge and other medieval stuff that crosses me. I can see the light! October 29, 2014. 8230;at the end of the tunnel. 🙂 My dragon finally has outlines in all the right places. I like the red outline, even though it’s really subtle on the orange body. Now what shall I do next? Take the white embroidery thread and finish him? Or take up a neglected spinning project? I know I said lavender…. Look at my sweet little dragon! My way in the SCA, the A&S 50 challenge and other medieval stuff that crosses me. I know I said lavender…. October 24, 2014. But you won’t see any lavender colored thread in my current progress. I had just one meter of the handspun bright lavender thread which was only enough to stitch the outline along the head and down to the chest. I looked through my whole yarn and embroidery stash but couldn’t find more of it. I’ve reached a decision! I can see the light! October 24, 2014 at 8:04 am. Fill in your de...

My way in the SCA, the A&S 50 challenge and other medieval stuff that crosses me. The dragon has a head now. September 20, 2014. This morning I finished stitching the big wing, then I embroidered the other wing. I looked at some pics in the Flickr group. For the Stitchalong and saw that there’s a tip of the other wing also showing. So I did that right after the first wing was finished. Dragon’s wing nearly completed. A dress with no shoes →. My way in the SCA, the A&S 50 challenge and other medieval stuff that crosses me. Stitchalong – embroidered purse. September 11, 2014. This September Tanya from Opus Anglicanum. A blog about textiles and embroidery started a stitchalong which will result in an embroidered medieval purse. When she announced that it would feature a dragon I was hooked. 🙂. Her first post was the materials list. With a picture of the finished dragon. I will use white wool fabric for the background. I will use two of the thr...
