VELOTAKU: March 2010
http://velotaku.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
You should try keepin' it right. Friday, March 19, 2010. A few of my favourite things. Thursday was the fourth night in a row that I had taken the Don for my commute to interim-home (being Michelle's place before completing our move tomorrow). She has been extremely accomodating of my commute extension through the trails and the numerous detours I have taken this week, so I really wanted to get home around 7 like I said I would. Monday, March 15, 2010. Wednesday, March 3, 2010. Dreams are easily forgotten.

VELOTAKU: April 2010
http://velotaku.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
You should try keepin' it right. Monday, April 12, 2010. Homage to Ice, Mansfield, Apr 11. So much singletrack. Rode where I wanted to (with Matt F) for the majority of the race but started hurting 1:40 into it. After that he and the other other Andrew put about 1min into me every 10 for the rest of the race. Survival mode was a relative success though, with a net loss of only one more position and no catastrophic failure involving zero-velocity. Bar-width (27"): too wide. Stem Length (65mm): just right.

'cross my heart: long live the queen!
http://cxmyheart.blogspot.com/2012/02/long-live-queen.html
Long live the queen! Last weekend was the annual Icycle ice race, and the end of my time as the champ. This year, there were 6 women competing, so we started with two initial heats of 3 riders each. I cannot begin to tell you how awful my first race was! I was feeling pretty comfortable in practice and warm up, but racing is such a different pace! Those corners seem so much worse at race speed, and I was all over the brakes. Frankly, pretty embarrassing, especially for the defending champion!

'cross my heart: developing my green thumb
http://cxmyheart.blogspot.com/2013/05/developing-my-green-thumb.html
Developing my green thumb. One of the nice things we've discovered this spring is the garden at the house. The previous owners left behind a gorgeous perennial garden, and now I'm trying to learn what to do to keep it looking good. The entire front yard is garden, and the backyard is all patio and garden beds. Bonus - no grass to mow! We planted a few seedlings this weekend, before the weather turned (there's threat of frost tonight! That pie looks AMAZING! The rest of your garden looks very pretty.

daily consumptions: my "coming home" to Newfoundland
http://dailyconsumptions.blogspot.com/2009/08/my-coming-home-to-newfoundland.html
Every day, i devour countless catchy visuals, aural delights. And savoury treats. why not chronicle their consumption? Friday, August 7, 2009. My "coming home" to Newfoundland. One of the difficult aspects about growing up in southern Ontario is grappling with what some have referred to as the Canadian identity crisis. Endless books, blogs, essays (including this one) have been devoted to lamenting "just what exactly is a Canadian? The colourful local language and turns of phrase. Why aren't you up here?

VELOTAKU: December 2009
http://velotaku.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
You should try keepin' it right. Sunday, December 20, 2009. Don Ride With Dave. We set out unsure how much of the Don would be rideable. I made the bonehead move of saying that things looked perfect in the 1st 30 seconds of riding after which we were greeted with one kilo of treacherous, but mostly rollabe ice. Trails were mostly rideable though and we made the most of it, getting a solid 2 hours in. Including some excellent goofing off in front of my excellent new Powershot. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

VELOTAKU: Have you even seen the Godfather?
http://velotaku.blogspot.com/2010/07/have-you-even-seen-godfather.html
You should try keepin' it right. Monday, July 12, 2010. Have you even seen the Godfather? 4pm and I was kitted out in spandex, ready for the commute-race home, when I saw him about to enter the shop. Looking not quite homeless, but a well-weathered 40-something, and drunk. Always drunk. Make me an offer I can't refuse.". At this point I could not help but interject. How about this: You leave the store, and don't try to sell us any more bikes.". Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Coulda been a contender.
