http://tieandflycolorado.blogspot.com/2014/12/holidays-and-withdrawals.html
Tie and Fly Colorado. Friday, December 19, 2014. I spend my days dreaming of the water, and reflecting on some of the amazing experiences that I had this year, spending time with my fishing buddies and catching some pretty amazing fish. I have never had withdrawals like this in my entire life, and I need something to make this feeling go away. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). San Juan Box- $0.50 Worth. http://tieandflycolorado.blogspot.com/2015/01/deckers-11015.html
Tie and Fly Colorado. Monday, January 12, 2015. The river looked great as usual, with many nice, healthy fish spotted. Even with the Fly Fishing Show going strong down in Denver, the river was packed full of anglers, looking to get out and enjoy a perfect January day. Although the fishing wasn't on fire, we managed to bring some fish to the net and enjoy the area around Deckers for the morning before heading back to Denver. January 12, 2015 at 9:56 PM. Looks like a nice morning out on the water. Arizona ...

Tie and Fly Colorado. Sunday, September 21, 2014. With every trip, they come to close, and it's time to point the Jeep back home. This was a great little trip with my Dad, fishing some new water and catching some nice fish. This trip also continued an ongoing trend that I hope to put to an end soon; my Dad catching the biggest fish of the trip. Labels: Blue Halo Fly Rods. September 21, 2014 at 4:11 PM. It's been clear skies and a bit warmer, but with all of the festivities with friends and family, I didn't even think about the river on Christmas. Ok. Dedicated to the Spirit of Nymph Fishing. Saturday, May 25, 2013. Tight Lines to Our Veterans. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." John 15:12-14. A nation that owes a great debt to the fallen that can never be repaid. It is difficult to talk about those that have given so much, without remmbering those that are serving our Nation today! Not to diminish the respect and reverence of those that have fallen protecting our nation, I have to recognize those here and now.
The NOCO Nympher: April 2014

Dedicated to the Spirit of Nymph Fishing. Monday, April 21, 2014. The morning started with a fleece jacket, beanie and entertaining having gloves with me yet equipment needs quickly changed to a baseball hat; stashing the fleece and definitely not needing gloves as the temperatures climbed into the high 60's in the Poudre Canyon. The 46 degree water was moving a little faster than last week at approximately 200cfs; yet still remained clear. Jim on The Poudre. I geared up with my 11 foot Tenkara Iwana rod...
The NOCO Nympher: Simms Wading Staff
http://www.noconympher.com/2013/10/simms-wading-staff.html
Dedicated to the Spirit of Nymph Fishing. Thursday, October 24, 2013. I had the misfortune of watching my wading staff float down the Taylor River because I carried it untethered and needless to say it did not stay put. Fortunately, I was fishing with my gear expert, Mike over at Big Dry Fly, who let me field test a Simms folding wading staff that he had brought along on the trip. After using his, Santa was nice enough to bring me one for Christmas last year. The staff itself was amazing! After getting h...

JT and I were back on the tooth, Horsetooth Reservoir that is, while the rivers were running high…We at least that is the excuse we use so we don’t feel too bad chasing smallmouth bass when trout are calling us! We loaded up at 5:45am and were on the lake by 6:30. What a gorgeous morning! We stayed parallel to shore and casted to shore, and let the fly drop. Any movement in the sighter or a stop and w...

http://www.noconympher.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
Dedicated to the Spirit of Nymph Fishing. Friday, August 23, 2013. Tenkara on the Gore Creek in Vail, Colorado. I had the opportunity to spend some time on the Gore Creek in Vail, Colorado. Amazing backdrop to spend some time on the water. The Gore Creek runs the length of the town of Vail and is nestled at the foot of the Gore Mountain Range. The Gore Creek is a free stone stream that resembles the visions of those writing about fly fishing on a rocky mountain stream. I used a 9' tapered fluorocarbon le...

Turn on any television station, listen to any radio station or read any electronic media and the Colorado region was inundated with snow forecasts and predictions from four different weather models and a few turned over weather rocks that we were in for a snow storm that was names the Siberian Express. A new flycasters journal. Sunday, May 10, 2009. Well, I got my first Koi on the flyrod yesterday. I was actually targetting a different fish when this guy swung around and nailed my streamer. Fly Fishing 101
Saturday, November 24, 2007. Fly Fishing in Western North Carolina. Fly Fishing in Western North Carolina. North Mills river is one of the easiest trout rivers to access in the area. This is a great location to go after work or if you only have a couple of hours to fish. It is a small, tight brushy stream but has some good pools and is easy to wade. The campground section can get a little crowded so hike upstream to avoid the crowds. This stream is labeled Delayed Harvest. Monday, November 12, 2007.

Maker Teachers Should…. Design vs. Demonstration. Great makerspace activities students are grounded in a design cycle. I know that’s a loaded phrase and there’s any number of fancy posters that use meticulously groomed verbs to describe the process. (For reference, ours has research/empathize/plan/make/test.). Moments they can inspire in students. While I’m happy to make use of that pedagogical tool in the Makerspace, I need to find a careful/neutral way to express that demonstration labs, in and of ...
