Tim and Tam at the Great Wall

Tim and Tam at the Great Wall. There are many different sections of the Great Wall. We went to the section of the wall that's in a place called Mutianyu. You have to drive a few hours from Beijing to get there but it's definitely worth it. Monday, November 1, 2010. The wall is up very high and runs along the top of ridges. You can climb up to it or you can take a cable car. We decided to climb up. It's not an easy walk up but it's a lovely one. The steps were so high! And we just kept going. Some of the ...

You have to drive a few hours from Beijing to get there but it's definitely worth it. Monday, November 1, 2010. We had a mah jong table in our room. Mah jong is a traditional and very popular game in China. It's played with tiles and dice. It looks like it would be fun but it might take a while to learn how to play it. Tim and Tam at the World Expo

Tim and Tam at the World Expo. Tuesday, November 2, 2010. We went to the World expo with our tour guide. His English name was John and he was very nice. He got our tickets for us and took us there on the train. Sunday, October 31, 2010. We passed lots and lots of pavilions from countries all around the world. We really liked the pavilion for Algeria. The mural on their wall looked really good. The Angola pavilion looked very interesting too. 65279; . We found this kangaroo near the entrance. There was a...

Tim and Tam in Beijing

Tim and Tam in Beijing. We finished our tour in China's capital city of Beijing. We loved our time here and the only problem we had was the air pollution. On some days it was so bad that it made our noses, throats and mouths feel yukky. Chinese people are very worried about the pollution and its a really hard problem to solve. Monday, November 1, 2010. On our first morning we had a good look around our hotel. We liked this Chinese bonsai tree in the foyer. It was just the right size for us. Lots of place...

Tim and Tam in Nanjing

Tim and Tam in Nanjing. Nanjing is a lovely city! A long time ago it was China's capital city. It's not as big as Shanghai but it has fifty universities! We had a few days here but we wished we could have stayed longer. Sunday, October 31, 2010. When we woke up in Nanjing it was mid-autumn day. We had our moon cakes for breakfast. They're a bit like mince pies but they have all sorts of sweet fillings in them. Then we went out to visit some schools in Nanjing. Don't try this at home kids! We went to the ...

Tim and Tam in Shanghai

Tim and Tam in Shanghai. Sunday, October 31, 2010. We caught the Maglev train from Shanghai airport into the city. Maglev trains are super fast and they don't even touch the tracks! They work by magnetism. Inside the train you can see how fast you are going. It was a bit scary at first but then it was exciting. Shanghai is a REALLY big city. About 27 million people live here; more people than we have in the whole of Australia. Most people live in tall apartment buildings. 65279; . Inside the museum we s...
