Why surgery isn’t scheduled yet | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/31/why-surgery-isnt-scheduled-yet
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. Why surgery isn’t scheduled yet. Trust me, I’d like to just get it over with! However, there are some financial/legal issues that I am hoping to resolve first. My parents left me a trust when they died, and by the terms of the will, I was named co-trustee. Only no one ever told ME about that bit. And no one wrote me down as such in the paperwork that established the trust money in a financial institution. But naturally, papers must be drawn up for both me an...

Spring Cleaning & Surgery | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/03/30/spring-cleaning-surgery
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. Spring Cleaning & Surgery. I’ve had my Fitbit. Part of the reason I’ve been at the spring cleaning, weeding and other house and yard work is because the thyroid surgery is finally scheduled! I got my legal stuff taken care of last month, but then I came down with a bad flu and they wouldn’t let me schedule while I was coughing! Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). I survived the holidays! | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/27/i-survived-the-holidays
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. I survived the holidays! We had a bit of additional stress right before Christmas when a wind storm did some damage on our roof. Nothing too serious and covered by insurance, but still stressful. By Christmas Eve I was totally tired out, so for Christmas Day, we decided to kick back, NOT open presents, but just do stocking gifts and relax. We gave the cats one present that day, a SmartyKat Lazy Groomer. So I got to wrap an enormous box (39 inches long! Anywa...

Up my nose with a rubber hose! | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/27/up-my-nose-with-a-rubber-hose
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. Up my nose with a rubber hose! Life has a way of bringing little surprises, usually when you expect them least! So, January 3rd, on a cold, freezing fog day, I marched myself off to the ear, nose and throat surgeon that my family doctor had recommended. My doctor had mentioned that the surgeon might do a fine needle aspiration right there in his office, so I was sort of prepared for getting a needle in the neck. I’ve had allergies all my life, so I guess I t...

And that’s that! | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/03/03/and-thats-that
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. And that’s that! I actually FORGOT my old blog was still up and kicking on the web! Well, no more, dealt with, done and gone forever! Happy to see it go! Anyway, it may be a bit early in this part of the world for spring cleaning, but we had an uncharacteristically warm winter, and it’s feeling more like spring all the time! See you on the flip side | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/04/07/see-you-on-the-flip-side
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. See you on the flip side. Surgery is tomorrow, I believe I am first on the schedule. Scared, but it’s gotta be done. My surgeon says he is possibly going to remove the entire thyroid, regardless of cancer, because of my swallowing issues. But he is going to start with the right lobe and see how things look in there. I’ve worked like a dog lately, and have gotten lots of steps in this past week. My feet are clamoring for a rest! Alive and OK | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/04/10/alive-and-ok
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. Made it through surgery OK. Whole thyroid taken, no cancer found, won’t know for sure about that until Tuesday at post-op doc appointment. Tired, sore, painful. Hospital *not* restful! Glad to come home yesterday! Cats all glad to see me and very concerned. Got silent miaows from two of them. Glad *I* don’t have silent miaow! My voice is OK, a bit weak and hoarse, but should improve with time. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Sorry, your blog...

Another pound bites the dust | Talking Frog Blog
https://talkingfrogblog.wordpress.com/2013/01/31/another-pound-bites-the-dust
Croaks from a creaky yet geeky senior citizen. Another pound bites the dust. I weighed myself Monday and had lost a pound and a quarter. I’ve been trying to fix more food for myself as opposed to relying on eating out and TV dinners, so I’m sure that has helped. And in a last minute attempt to do what I can to have my body healthy for surgery, I’ve taken advantage of some passable weather recently to hill walk with my Nordic walking poles. I am outta shape! I earned a 25 floor badge for my Fitbit. Enter ...
