The Florida Forest Service staff has done a good job of demonstrating this. I received a press release today that said the Florida Forest Service burned more than 246,000 acres of state forests over the last 12 months, the highest number ever reported by a state forestry agency in United States history.

Polk County officials announced late this afternoon that Polk had received a federal grant that will allow county officials to proceed with opening a new fire station in Village 7 in Poinciana.
