run a marathon, write a novel, get fit & go nuts: 100 things, more or less
http://runamarathon_writeanovel.blogspot.com/2004/10/100-things-more-or-less.html
Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Thursday, October 14, 2004. 100 things, more or less. I deleted this a while ago in a fit of destructive madness, but realise that the link is still on the blog and it's a useful starting place for visitors. (Hello visitors). I've thought about writing a new one, but haven't got round to it. So, anyway, here’s the thing. I cannot tell a lie. Or at least, I cannot lie with a straight face. As far ...

run a marathon, write a novel, get fit & go nuts: Four hours & change
http://runamarathon_writeanovel.blogspot.com/2006/04/four-hours-change.html
Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Monday, April 10, 2006. Four hours and change. In some ways, the running was the easiest thing about the Paris Marathon. I do consider myself a 'people' person, but 35000 is pushing it. Especially when they're pushing you. Four hours and some loose change it took me. Don't have the Chip Time yet. Still limping. Paris is a whole different proposition when your knees are yelping in pain.

run a marathon, write a novel, get fit & go nuts: only 40 000 steps to go
http://runamarathon_writeanovel.blogspot.com/2006/04/only-40-000-steps-to-go.html
Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Friday, April 07, 2006. Only 40 000 steps to go. Last week I took a pedometer (no, I don't have sex with minors; call the dogs off) on my long run and I calculated that it takes me about 30000 steps to run just under 20 miles. That's a lot of wear and tear. Yes, I've just parachuted in to tell no-one in particular that I'm about to run my. Posted by c at 12:57 am. Glasgow, United Kingdom.

Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Saturday, April 30, 2005. More glum reflections then we'll move on. Since I got a pro account, courtesy of Glacia. All my online time has been spent flickr-ing. So, no blog for a bit. Been kind of running out of steam with the blog recently. Raison d'etre unclear. The thing is to just keep doing it. One of the beautiful things in my life is that I don’t really have any goals. I just work day ...

run a marathon, write a novel, get fit & go nuts: June 2005
http://runamarathon_writeanovel.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Too damp to dazzle. I'll make this one a bit cheerier than the last couple. So the interview was yesterday. And despite the Kafka-esque idea of appearing before a panel of my superiors to apply for my own job I didn't wake up after uneasy dreams and discover I was an insect. I'm with the kids on this one. The idea of doing the interview in my pyjamas kinda tickled me....

run a marathon, write a novel, get fit & go nuts: Arch of Triumph

Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Saturday, April 15, 2006. Well, thanks for the lovely comments, troops. Here's the much-advertised pic. Not plural, unfortunately. Just this one was any good. Some 31000 runners finished this race. Which is fab in terms of atmosphere and all. There's like an electric current running through the pack of runners (peloton? Out - wouldn't be surprised if a few folks did; saw a few tinfoiled casualtie...

Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Thursday, March 31, 2005. There's less than 24 hours before the wheels are set in motion for my end-to-end cycle trip. Er, literally: I've finally hired a car to drive overnight to Cornwall. The plan is to stay awake long enough to have breakfast at the seaside somewhere south of Plymouth and watch the sun come up. Have a nap, drop the car off, then meet up with timx. The fun of travel is. If you...

run a marathon, write a novel, get fit & go nuts: Q & A
http://runamarathon_writeanovel.blogspot.com/2005/10/q.html
Run a marathon, write a novel, get fit and go nuts. An occasional self-help diary about writing and wrunning. Thursday, October 20, 2005. For those of you averse to a bit of verse, look away now; I've been at the poyums again. Yes, another "Poem of the Answers" workshop - same questions, different answers. It changes every time. I once explained to a group of students that part of the glory of writing (anything, not just poetry . . . but especially poetry) was that you didn't write. So much as it wrote.

The Ongoing Ramblings of a History Buff...: February 2005
http://hxbuff.blogspot.com/2005_02_01_archive.html
The Ongoing Ramblings of a History Buff. Tuesday, February 15, 2005. Roughly two hours ago I was standing on the ledge of death. It seemed at the time to be the most logical, most productive, most satisfying course of action to take given my situation, which I will not, for time sake, get into all the details about. But I will say that I was a man with no life for I had lost EVERYTHING! How can we speak with certainty of what we know not of? Posted by The Kali-Man at 10:27 PM. Friday, February 11, 2005.
