Monday, July 30, 2012. No, I'm not talking about the flavor of Pringles that rages through your innards like a hot knife through butter. I'm talking about Gambit! This was for this month's show at Planet Pulp. Where the topic was "X-Men." I was a huge fan of Gambit back in the '90s, so that's the Gambit I drew. I'm not sure what they've done to/with him since then, but I wanted to pay homage to the Gambit I fell in love with. In a totally platonic way. Sunday, July 22, 2012. And the Star Wars Trilogy.

I might do more with these at some point, add some more design elements or something. For now, I'm just experimenting with a style that I'm thinking of using on another piece I'm developing for a gallery show later this year. This sketch is dedicated to both my son and my life-long friend, Ben Rolph. Ben and I used to draw the Ninja Turtles to keep ourselves occupied during church when we were kids, and drawing with Ben is one of the things that made me want to be an artist when I grew up. While I'm still waiting to grow up, I also still love to draw.
