Ok, so went to Algonquin park … I knew there were going to be at least one chance to get some mushroom shots, so I packed the pod. This one is at 1/4s @ f11 … though I did have the lens OS enabled, not sure if that helped or hindered. Overall I would say that it is a handy tool. It does stabilize, and most importantly it is not a burden.

A common problem with many old cameras is the focus mechanism. Over time the lubricants on the focus helicoid gets stiff. This makes focusing difficult or not possible. This stage of the repair gets into lubricating the helicoid. So, on with the show. I forgot to mention in my Shutter post about the back of the front cover.

This Mamiya Six came as needing some cleaning. The first thing is to take off the lens. Open the back and use the spanner wrench to loosen the circular retaining nut. Open the front to extract the lens. Continue to unscrew the circular retaining nut and then pull the lens off. The front cell just unscrews counter clock wise. Flip the shutter over.
