The Oink! Blog: August 2015
http://the-oink-blog.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 26 August 2015. GO TO PART FIVE: THE TRANSFORMERS. I could very easily say click here. And be done with this post if I'm honest, but that wouldn't be like me and so here we go again with another comic which, for reasons I can't fathom, you'll find very little about online. While its companion title Big Comic Fortnightly. Is fondly remembered and you'll find plenty of cover images and information on the web, you'd be hard pushed to see any proof of Funny Fortnightly. Could be found in both, the...

http://the-oink-blog.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 31 December 2014. Happy New Year (again) everyone and welcome to Rubbish Man. S party (and you thought Jools Holland's guest list was impressive) to celebrate the end of 1987 and the beginning of a brand new, shiny 1988. Oink! Had had an absolutely golden run of faultless issues, released a superb book for the first time and was about to turn weekly in only a matter of days, what was not to love about the new year? Then, dig in and enjoy the company of the assembled masses:. GO TO PART TWO.

The Oink! Blog: May 2014

Friday, 30 May 2014. 29: THE SWILLS ARE ALIVE. Have just uploaded that cover to this post while listening to Forgotten Eighties. Such is the failure of the ol' grey cells. So on with the 29th edition and no disrespect intended to any of the hugely talented Oink! Crew but there's something special about grabbing the next issue and seeing an Ian Jackson. Style, on the Grunts. Before the comic strips we've also got the small matter of the "FREE LPs" given away with this issue. A free LP? So yes, the 3-panel...

The Oink! Blog: BEYOND OINK! #5: THE TRANSFORMERS

Wednesday, 12 August 2015. GO TO PART FOUR: WILDCAT. My blog has always been my own personal journey through Oink! And I've shared many memories along the way. With the Beyond Oink! Series I've applied this to the other titles I read as a child. Last time I also added in as much information as I could track down on Wildcat. As it's sadly a forgotten comic with no coverage online, however there's certainly no need to introduce these fellas:. Covers: Stephen Baskerville (left) and Andy Wildman (right).

The Oink! Blog: November 2014
http://the-oink-blog.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, 29 November 2014. 42: NOT BAD, JUST MAD. Kicks things off in our latest issue with probably one of, if not the most memorable cover out of all sixty-eight issues of the regular comic (surely the most memorable Oink! Cover has to be "this year's" annual). I even braved showing this to a diehard Jacko fan last week and I didn't get lynched - trust me, that says a lot! Don't just glance at it either, take your time with those lovely details. Then inside we go. Straight to the Mad. Strip which star...

The Oink! Blog: BEYOND OINK! #4: WILDCAT

Wednesday, 22 July 2015. GO TO PART THREE: BIG COMIC FORTNIGHTLY. Be warned, this is a long post. All these comics have been a joy to rediscover but this one in particular has nothing online to remember it by. This post is all there's going to be apart from an occasional sentence on a Wiki entry, so I wanted to do it justice and make it the most definitive post it could be. But still from that personal point of view of course. Let's start this part of my Beyond Oink! And Big Comic Fortnightly. During the...

The Oink! Blog: May 2015
http://the-oink-blog.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 27 May 2015. Is not only my favourite comic, it was also my first. Before it came along I still loved to read, mainly The Railway Series. By The Rev. W. Awdry. Which I had a big collection of amongst my other children's books, but I hadn't collected any comics. Not that I was a stranger to them. My brother got The Beano. Every week and every Christmas Santa would bring my brother and I the annuals of it and its companion The Dandy. He also collected Roy of the Rovers. Comics in a big way.

The Oink! Blog: March 2015
http://the-oink-blog.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, 27 March 2015. 56: READ THIS - OR ELSE! This has probably been the easiest selection of highlights to choose since I started this blog. Each issue I usually struggle with too many strips, pages, Madvertisements etc. to include and there's usually some classic gag left in the comic for you to discover for yourselves if or when you get a hold of any of the issues. But this week it's different. I included part one of Hieronymous Van Hellsong. Is not only the cover star of another brill Lew Stringer.
