Riding Sidecar with the Lion of Life. Musings, rants, swears, thoughts and spelling mistakes. About the enigma that is Tim Ward. I received the following heartbreaking email recently…. My Dear Friend,. My name is susan bache, who is diagnosed with oesophageal cancer. To cut the long story short, I have few hours left to live, depending on my surgery which will take place soon. Although I am rich, but it doesn’t matter anymore. I can now be free to depart peacefully. You can then contact my lawyer who...

Riding Sidecar with the Lion of Life. Musings, rants, swears, thoughts and spelling mistakes. About the enigma that is Tim Ward. All the news that’s fit to print. Well, it’s been one hell of an interesting week as far as newspapers are concerned. Or, one newspaper in particular. If you don’t know what’s happening with the News of the World then then was Mars? You'd struggle to get a RT here. Pretty shitty of them, eh? Yeah – it didn’t stop there. Apparently they also did similar to the pa...The inevitabl...

Twitter – Not just for organising riots | Riding Sidecar with the Lion of Life

Riding Sidecar with the Lion of Life. Musings, rants, swears, thoughts and spelling mistakes. About the enigma that is Tim Ward. Twitter – Not just for organising riots. Way back in 2009 my friend Dave told me about a thing called “twitter”… I took at look at it, and decided that it was bollocks. It just appeared to be the facebook status section, but without the ability to add comments, like it, see people’s pictures, receive event invites etc… Utterly useless… But then I looked more. I moved from Sheff...

Riding Sidecar with the Lion of Life. Musings, rants, swears, thoughts and spelling mistakes. About the enigma that is Tim Ward. This is a something I’ve been meaning to write about for several months, but never got round to it. So here we go. Rooms to Rent. We aren't that weird. But, I didn’t expect to be friends with them. They were a married couple in their late thirties – we had nothing in common. I tried to avoid them as much as possible. I daren’t raise it. Kirst, who at the time was still in Sheff...

Two thousand and men. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Houston, we have progress. Same old, same old →. Pity the fool…. March 4, 2010. 8230; who got stood up! OK, so it’s been a bit of a topsy turvy week or two to say the least but I am still as single as ever, just a little more bitter and confused. If I’m honest I wasn’t massively sure about him but he seemed a nice enough guy and his eagerness made me think it was worth giving it a go. 1240pm – “Lucky I’ve got my phone to pretend t...1250 – &#...

Thoughts, musings and commentary on stories from the developing world. It looks like it’s going to rain. Having enjoyed the beautiful sunshine that has blessedBritainover the past few weeks, it has been a welcome respite from the heat to see dark clouds hovering overhead, and hear the rain pattering against the windowpane as I drift off to sleep. Yet whilst it is celebrated by agriculturalists and gardeners, for others, the arrival of rain is not so well received. To TrackBack this entry is:. Fill in you...
Good News Stories | Front Page News?

Thoughts, musings and commentary on stories from the developing world. As street parties were in full swing, communities were drawn together, and neighbours welcomed one another into the celebrations. The day’s events took over the news channels, almost obscuring ongoing situations across the rest of the world, but at least it provided some good news stories for once. Tis the season for good news…. Published in: Uncategorized on May 4, 2011 at 8:38 pm Leave a Comment. To TrackBack this entry is:. When yo...
Why 0.7%? | Front Page News?

Thoughts, musings and commentary on stories from the developing world. Following the leaked letter from Liam Fox. To David Cameron today outlining his concerns over enshrining the government’s commitment to overseas development aid (ODA) of 0.7% of GNI (Gross National Income) into law, questions have once again been raised over the necessity of aid. The calls to ‘Keep the Promise’. To some this seems like an outdated and arbitrary figure, unsuitable for a time of austerity measures. This is not to deny t...
Feeling Hungry? | Front Page News?

Thoughts, musings and commentary on stories from the developing world. Food prices are going up. A weekly grocery shop is more expensive than it used to be, and most shoppers are more discerning in finding bargains than a few years ago. Purse strings have been pulled tighter and we are all counting the cost of the ongoing effects of the financial crisis. But we are not starving. We are not facing a famine. Unlike almost 10 million people in East Africa. On July 7, 2011 at 7:25 am Leave a Comment. Https:/...

Riding Sidecar with the Lion of Life. Musings, rants, swears, thoughts and spelling mistakes. About the enigma that is Tim Ward. Two reasons my postman is in the wrong profession. Two reasons, eight months apart. Comments : Leave a Comment. I don’t know where I’m going with this blog, but I felt I had to get some words written down somewhere, as opposed to swirling around my head – so here it goes. I always thought my dad would be around until at least his late 80s – his nan and aunt both lived pas...
