A writers journey…. What Inspires Me: The Cure. July 29, 2016. This week I went and saw one of my favorite bands of all time – The Cure. I discovered this band as a teen and truth be told it was the poetic lyrical genius of Robert Smith who engaged and enamored me. To me he’s like a modern day Gothic romantic and his words are dark yet illuminating. One of my favorites, is the title song from the album “Disintegration”:. Oh i miss the kiss of treachery the shameless. The need to just let go my party piece.

A writers journey…. What inspires me: Margarett Atwood’s Handmaid’s Tale. February 10, 2017. I have always been inspired by stories by and of women and I recently re-read “The Handmaid’s Tale” by Margaret Atwood. I have to start off by saying this book was recommended to me by a friend and I am glad she did as its become one of my favorite all time books. This book has had a deep impact on me and my personal connection to feminism and the resulting treatment of women and their bodies. January 19, 2017.

Recipe: White Christmas

December 12, 2016. 1 1/2 cups of Rice Bubbles. 100g glace cherries chopped. 160g almonds, roasted and chopped. 1 cup desiccated coconut. 1 tsp vanilla extract. Melt chocolate with double boiler stove top method or in microwave. Mix rest of ingredients with liquefied chocolate. Pour mixture into cupcake cases and place on flat tray which can fit into fridge. You can top with sprinkles, glitter or dark chocolate for extra oomph. Put in fridge to set for a few hours. C) T Altman 2016. Enter your comment here.

A writers journey…. Flaneusing In Another City. January 11, 2017. In December, I went on a trip to Brisbane for a conference and took some extra days off either side, to be able to further acquaint myself with the city. Even though I’d been to Brisbane a few times before, it had been years and the city has changed into a sprawling modern metropolis with more things to do and see. These walks were just what I needed to reinvigorate me with my passion for poetry and short story writing. C) T Altman 2017.
