Fallen Leaves and Apple Harvest. First Swallow →. November 19, 2013 · 11:00 am. This morning brought our first snow. We awoke to a light dusting but as daylight slowly crept across the valley the horizon was stacked with strange purple clouds against the frigid hills. These showers soon engulfed us. April 16, 2014 · 8:17 am. Spring has swept across the valley with gusto the last few weeks. The winter has been wet beyond belief . Water has seeped , carved and scoured and still, after a few weeks of dry the bottom meadow squelches. The blossom is beginning at last to cloak these high hills. Driving along country lanes in the Beacons I drive through curtains of falling leaves. Beech is the best. Their small tanned faces catch any autumn sunlight that is around. First Snow →. The meeting was preceeded by an hour long rant about neonicotiniods by a Bournemouth BKA member. Besides distrusting the science with which we are presented by companies earning pots of money from these chemicals he also isn’t happy with the way the BBKA has been handling the subject and there may be some pressure applied to them from branches if he has his way. I solved this by going round 3 times!
