Just a dorky blog about my knitting, travels and life in general. Sunday, May 25, 2008. Clams wear sweaters, barnacles are well endowed, and lots of other random learnings. 1 Clams wear sweaters. Soft-shelled clams, also known as long neck clams or pisser (pronounced pissah) clams. 2 Barnacles have sex and are well endowed. If you don't believe me, you can watch this hilarious video on YouTube. Which will be filming some scenes there. They built the bottom part of lighthouse,. And will probably use CGI f...

Just a dorky blog about my knitting, travels and life in general. Saturday, August 23, 2008. Absolutely Addicted to Ravelry. If you are a knitter, or a crocheter (is that what people who crochet call themselves? Or a spinner or a weaver, or anyone who likes to play with yarn in any way, Ravelry. Is hugely addictive. I have to admit that that is my most recent excuse for being a slacker blogger.(I have so many excuses). Links to this post. Monday, August 11, 2008. Not gumdrops, not rocks. Yesterday, I cru...

NY to Knittissippi: November 2008

Just a dorky blog about my knitting, travels and life in general. Friday, November 7, 2008. So, I've been a Keith Olbermann junkie throughout the campaign, and still think he's great. He's extremely biased, but I'm cool with that, because he's honest about it, and he backs up every single thing he says with quotes and documentation. Recently, I've also become a huge fan of Rachel Maddow. Her ongoing disagreements with her friend and fake uncle, Pat Buchanan are endlessly entertaining. Links to this post.

Fifi's ramblings: December 2007
http://fifisramblings.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 24, 2007. The walls are finished. Only the window frames and doors need work now. This allowed me to do the flooring. Here is a picture just before I finished the floor. Now I am waiting for some furniture I ordered to arrive so I can setup my office again and get back to work. I need to do some testing of the Angstrom release candidates on the OMAP starter kit. I also need to get Angstrom running on the Xilinx ml403 evaluation board in the next few weeks. Monday, December 17, 2007.

Just a dorky blog about my knitting, travels and life in general. Sunday, December 30, 2007. If you could bottle stuff like this, you'd be rich. So what happened.we got here (Jess's place) about 10:30 last night, caught up with Jess a bit and went to bed. Mark was a driving maniac yesterday and drove the whole way up here so I went into a knitting frenzy on his soon to be felt slippers which are the reverse of mine (which I love love love). Jess in the AM. See what I mean about a great day? I showed huge...

Just a dorky blog about my knitting, travels and life in general. Monday, November 19, 2007. This meeting was cooler than some of the others, and the discussion was really productive. We also got to actually go out and visit some of the study sites which meant I got to see these. Some incredibly idyllic scenes like this. On drive back, I also used our cool new GPS device to find The Yarn Lounge. But there was such beautiful yarn there that I ended up buying this. And I was lucky to get out of there just ...

Fifi's ramblings: Ireland
http://fifisramblings.blogspot.com/2008/05/ireland.html
Sunday, May 18, 2008. I was here for the CISDR workshop. The work shop went well, which should make Chris happy. (One of the work shop goals was to help Chris get tenure). I met a lot of new people at the workshop and we had some good discussions on future research ideas in SDR. Hopefully, some joint projects come from the workshop. Ireland is a nice sunny place (the locals do not think the weather has been normal this week). Yesterday, I did the cliff walk. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
