Tiny Green Cottage

English-style Gardening in the Pacific Northwest! Friday, November 4, 2011. Cold weather is upon us once again, which means that it is time to plant some garlic! After our biggest garlic harvest EVER, it feels good to know that we've closed the loop entirely on this simple (yet all-important) ingredient. Our success with the harvest can be credited to our winter hoop houses and lots of chicken manure; key components to the largest garlic bulbs we've ever grown. Garlic growing this Summer. In-between mass...

Tiny Green Cottage: A Visit to the Seaside

http://tinygreencottage.blogspot.com/2010/11/visit-to-seaside.html

English-style Gardening in the Pacific Northwest! Wednesday, November 3, 2010. A Visit to the Seaside. We visited Seaside, Oregon last week and took some photos of a beautiful garden belonging to two of our friends. They live in a converted school house built in the 1900's surrounded by rabbits, acreage, and flowers! Near their house is a beautiful park and a creek. The weather was more than accommodating that day, and gave us one last glimpse of beautiful, October sun. I want to create something similar.

Tiny Green Cottage: Ides of March

http://tinygreencottage.blogspot.com/2011/03/ides-of-march.html

English-style Gardening in the Pacific Northwest! Tuesday, March 15, 2011. To think that I have not written in this blog since November is just appalling! But here I am in mid-March, finally making my first post of the New Year! Now is the time of year when the rain seems perpetual and the yard is a muddy mess. No matter how barren the yard seems now, I sometimes need to remind myself that in a matter of months everything will change once again! Herb Garden, July 2010. Posted by Urban Cottager. My daffod...

Tiny Green Cottage: Updates for May 2011

http://tinygreencottage.blogspot.com/2011/05/updates-for-may-2011.html

English-style Gardening in the Pacific Northwest! Wednesday, May 11, 2011. Updates for May 2011. A long overdue update from this weary Cottager, who has been busy with everything *other* than gardening. In-between massive construction updates to the Cottage itself (mostly related to insulation and heating and cooling systems), I have also completed my graduate degree in Library Science. I'm thrilled to be done of course, and am definitely ready for some time in the garden! Has been flung to the wayside.

My loving husband thinks I dance like a leprechaun. Hopefully I'm a more graceful blogger than dancer. Wednesday, December 30, 2009. I still love you, honest I do. It's just that lately I've been caught up in an affair or two with my book club novels and a couple of shows I had rather stay tuned into in my spare time, thanks to. Maybe 2010 will bring me back. Until then, the happiest of new years to you. Peace, Love and all that Jazz. Wednesday, October 14, 2009. Ha I kid, I kidd! Halloween is enjoyed fo...

When Perfect Plans Are Broken. February 28, 2017. 8220;He’ll get used to it,” we thought. He did to preschool last year, he was wild at first, but he settled in with Mrs. Jill…. But this wasn’t preschool. And he didn’t get used to it. So the smallest boy in the huge class got called into the principal’s office, often. He was throwing rocks, he was cutting hair, stealing food. He could not control himself. He felt lost, and now disliked. We pulled him out of Kindergarten after four weeks. Where did you go?
