FFT3: Initiative and Command Rules | Tracks and Threads
https://tracksandthreads.wordpress.com/fft3-initiative-and-command-rules
FFT3: Initiative and Command Rules. My ‘Modern’ Project. FFT3: Initiative and Command Rules. FFT3: Initiative and Command Rules. Initiative and Activation Phase (at start of each Move in the Command phase). Like the FFT3 rules, I have been toying with the idea of adding a couple of house rules concerning initiative and unit activation, I like a bit of friction and can’t resist a tinker! Both sides roll 1d6, highest die gains initiative: player with initiative last move wins any ties. Free barrage from on...

The Wargames Table: British Supports - Part 2
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015/08/british-supports-part-2.html
Monday, 3 August 2015. British Supports - Part 2. Since the standard late war British infantry platoon in Chain of Command has a relatively low Force Rating (0 or -1) compared to many of the German platoons, it's necessary to have quite a few support options. Here's a four man armoured reconnaissance team; an NCO and a Bren team. Mostly Crusader British figures. Here's their Universal Carrier. It's the excellent Warlord plastic kit, although I have yet to apply the transfers! Finally here's a sniper.

The Wargames Table: April 2015
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, 26 April 2015. It's been a few years since we last went along to Salute. I've plenty of good things to say but first, let's start with the no-so-good points. Demo games where the demo-ers are too "busy" playing to interact with polite, interested show attendees. If you can't be bothered to talk to the show-going public then don't bother to put on a game at show. (We have put on a number of demo games over the years and engaging with show-goers was always a priority). Rant over. Thank you. The Sal...

The Wargames Table: Banque de France Anyone?
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015/07/banque-de-france-anyone.html
Saturday, 25 July 2015. Banque de France Anyone? If you still needed any convincing about the amazing depth of Colin’s creative talent for modelling buildings then please look no further than this. I was delighted when I saw this. Marvellous stuff! Yes, but what about using it as a fancy residence, a small chateau maybe, or perhaps a Mairie. Also, having a neo-Georgian-esque look it would be jolly handy for anyone interested in VBCW too. Lovely. No, I didn't know who they were either. ;o). One of the thi...

The Wargames Table: August 2015
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, 23 August 2015. Game 3 (the finale). Captain Todd shook his head grimly as the stretcher-bearers ran past carrying the badly wounded Lieutenant Carruthers. The Germans had really caught B Company on the hop. Although how they had managed to infiltrate the front lines was anybody’s guess. May be one of the few remaining French collaborators had helped them? 8220;Right. Sergeant Murphy! 8221; the brawny Irishman replied snapping a crisp salute, then dashed off bellowing at his men to get going.

The Wargames Table: June 2015
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 23 June 2015. What better way to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the world's most famous battle than by re-creating it in miniature with a group of friends! Steve and Simon have a huge collection of suitable figures, so along with a few others, we set about having a day of splendid fun. The rules in use were the (rather good) Blackpowder set from Warlord. However, as I knew I couldn't stay all day I returned the badge. Next draw. It was Wellington! La Haye Saint and the sand-pit. The centre...

The Wargames Table: July 2015
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, 31 July 2015. Eastern Front Buildings - Sneak Peak. Colin's at it again! No, not exposing himself on the seafront (yikes! He's been busy designing more lovely buildings . and he's been kind enough to give me a little preview of his latest project. Buildings for the Eastern Front of WW2, so I just had to share. Here's the first. One detail I particularly like are the window frames; they're in two sections, allowing you to model the window being partially open. For the "official" word. No, I didn't...

The Wargames Table: March 2015
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 March 2015. Charlie Foxtrot Models - Part 1. I'm delighted to announce that Wargames Table chum Colin Farrant has now launched his MDF scenery business on the web! You can find out more here http:/ www.charliefoxtrotmodels.com/. Colin is a very nice chap to do business with and the quality/price of the kits is superb! Plus they're very easy and enjoyable to build. After construction all the walls need is a little bit of texture, e.g. masonry paint, and they're ready to paint. If you cannot se...

The Wargames Table: Farmhouse in Normandy
http://thewargamestable.blogspot.com/2015/07/farmhouse-in-normandy.html
Thursday, 23 July 2015. This superb model building (from Charlie Foxtrot Models. Has been rather nicely painted by Jenny in a style similar to the other buildings - please see earlier posts. Colin sells a range of 'extensions' such as the one shown on the left, allowing you to customise buildings as required. Below is a pic of the rear. No farm could be complete without a barn. so here it is. Again from Charlie Foxtrot Models. As with all CFM buildings, the roof lifts off as do any upper floors. The Soun...
