tsukemono [pickled things]: September 2003
http://pistachoo.blogspot.com/2003_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 27, 2003. Ode to a fish. My scaly friend has passed on. He (she? Came into my life on the first day of school (or maybe a few weeks later) of my first teaching job two years ago. That's a long-lived zebra-striped danio, if you ask me. I had noticed lately that he had been getting smaller, less striped, and rather see through. So it's not really a great surprise to find her supine over a bit of gravel at the bottom of the plastic tank. I haven't unplugged the bubbles yet. I now have no...

tsukemono [pickled things]: May 2004
http://pistachoo.blogspot.com/2004_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 07, 2004. Where did all my comments go? Posted by Geneviève at 22:06. I actually can't remember why I came here. I know I haven't made a post in a while, but not as long a while as the last interval. The problem is twofold: (1) I tend to forget to come and make updates. (2) Once I log on, I forget what it was I wanted to tell you! Oh well, so I will ramble on for a bit. can't hurt, really. I mean, who actually reads this? I am a Gmail. To, when they keep leaving new surprises for me! And was ...

Thursday, November 16, 2006. All's Fair In Love And War. Those among my friends whom I see on MSN will no doubt be familiar with the on-going saga in the third floor apartment of the building across the grass. To call it constant fighting would be rather mild. it sounds more like recurring murders. For a long time I was convinced that what I heard were the screams of enraged lesbians on the cusp of breaking up. The screeching "I HATE YOUR @#&%ing mother! The letter goes as follows:. On average, they dist...

Posted by Geneviève at 13:52. Monday, February 23, 2004. The Big 5 Personality Test. Irritated by a young friend of mine, I started comparing notes with my mom. The discussion turned to the question of Narcissism. In doing some research, I my attention was arrested by the statement. One parent a narcissist? And here are my results.

tsukemono [pickled things]: November 2003
http://pistachoo.blogspot.com/2003_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 29, 2003. Perhaps it's seasonal, like allergies. it seems to coincide uncannily with Report Card time. And the most common symptom? Hit the teacher when she is down! In the last three weeks, I have had three parents (that I know of) go completely nuts, send me long, long. The break in the clouds is the fact that the other, non-crazy, parents have made such an effort to come forward with expressions of dismay, sympathy, and geniune concern for how I am "holding up" and "coping" with the...

tsukemono [pickled things]: plucky pleckos perish
http://pistachoo.blogspot.com/2007/02/plucky-pleckos-perish.html
Monday, February 26, 2007. After having spent a leisurely weekend swimming merrily upside-down in the warm shark-infested waters in Room 103, young plecko pals Meghan and Adelleh have mysteriously vanished. They were last seen snuffling along the walls of the tank for algae, early this morning at breakfast time. "When I served the morning meal (fish flakes à la française) there was quite a frenzy, but everyone seemed to eat to satisfaction," says Mme LeNoyeau*. Names have been changed. Oh I ate them!
